Alright so here’s the last legit piece that I have to share. This one is my side piece. Gets used pretty much every day, I love it. My Jerry Kelly spoon.
The colors on this one got me and I loved just the cool patterned millies. Had to really pump myself up to pay the money for this, but it’s so well made that i look at getting a second one like every other day now and don’t bat an eye at the price. This thing could drive nails in a pinch if you needed it. Love Jerry’s style, really love this spoon
I have a glass related question: does anyone know how to separate a downstem that is stuck inside a bong. Mine is basically welded in there, it’s glass on glass, and I’ve tried an isopropyl soak, but it won’t budge!
I’ve always had the best luck using super hot water / slowly bringing it up to close to boiling. Liquifies the gunk and then you can get it out. The heat also tends to expand the glass some which can help.
You could try heat. Bring a big pot of water to a boil and take off heat. Let the piece soak for a few minutes and see if that loosens things up.
Ive had success with this method before
@HeadyBearAdventures put something in the downstem like a chopstick or the handle of a wooden spoon and try to wiggle it around. That usually works. A few light taps on the outside of where it’s stuck can help break it free a bit too.
Found it… this was a custom bowl I had done. I saw the original worked piece sold, so had it recreated on Etsy. I had a red and black one done. The original just had eye balls crown, I had the artist put the red retina streaks for added flare
Mail day! Still waiting on my seed co-op package, but I just got in a box from David James Glass, the guy @LegsMahoney hipped me to. Had a good convo with him and he sold me some sweet pipes I’m excited to give a test drive. The story I got from him was that he was locked down to one shop for twenty years and now is independent, starting to sell his stuff in more venues including through his IG. Definitely interested in getting some of his bonsai bong slide work in the future, but these scratch the glass itch real good. Very reasonable prices, these were $60 shipped for the pair.
