Opprui 420W on a big discount

But 420 sounds so much better for a grow light.

What’s your opinion on the maxisun? I have that one with the remote.
Edit I think Minne is the PB.
I like the MF ones better
I’ve flowered with it, but Now it’s my veg light.

I don’t run it @ 100% all the time , it looks the part for sure, but not sure about real quality of lights

Good luck with your 420 !

This is my first grow so I can’t really speak to it other than I spent hours reading posts and watching videos on all the usual suspects in the <$200 category and settled on the maxisun. Just didn’t want to pass on this deal in case the light ends up being solid. Was going to return my maxisun since I only got it two weeks ago, but thinking I’ll keep it in case something goes sideways with the Opprui.

Is the one you have the one with the pan?

I have the mf1500 and it’s awesome l I’ve flowerd 3times with it and super dense buds under it.

The driver gets hottttt but I think they all do tbh.

Good luck

Yeah that’s the one. I’m sure I would have been fine with it. I don’t have the space for another tent in my apartment or I’d set up a second grow area.

A couple of quick center spot measurements:

12 inch: 1780 umols/m2/s PAR at >30 minutes center spot. Ambient probably 70F’ish.
18 inch: 1069 umols/m2/s PAR center spot.
24 inch: 686 umols/m2/s PAR center spot.

My off the cuff notes: Hanging points seem like an afterthought. No conformal coating. Dimmer is cheap and also seems like an afterthought. Poorly mounted. A couple of plastic spring clips are used to keep the two LED panels more or less aligned along with the power supply mounting across the two panels. Which is mounted via thumbscrews and PEM inserts which is good. One of the supplied spring clips I had received was smashed. It appears the supply may have daisy chain ability but have no idea, there’s a 1/4 jack on the PS … or something. Output intensity is good, as noted above. I’d expect it to roll off fairly rapidly as we move away from the center. It works and is perfectly useable. At the list price of $500, there would be better alternatives. At the discounted price ( -70% of $500 ~= 150 ), worth it.

Thanks Loki! Luckily my two plastic chip clips were in good shape when I got mine, a binder clip would probably work better than the ones provided through. It took me a minute to figure out how to hang it, but I was real high while I was processing it. Finally went the way I think they planned(poorly) for.

Since my seedling was only 9 days old when I installed this I’ll basically be doing a whole grow with it, assuming it survives, the light or the plant, take your pick.

I got one of those lights. In a 4x4 with a cheapo 240w qb. What stood out for me was no mention of Samsung diodes in the manual. I was eager to see the type, figured they would not be lm301h or b, but I am not sure what they are. Such an important and valuable piece of information to leave out. Plants are happy.
