Has anyone ever melted their grill.

… I have

How the hell did you melt your grill? Did it start out as a grease fire?

I love making pizzas in my old school bullet smokers…

Weber charcoal grill, the insulated kamado type. Left the vents fully opened and went to have a beer. I was used to such things taking awhile to get to temp.

I had intended to get into ~500F range and heat soak a skillet. The temperature gauge max’s out at 700F but managed to peg it off-scale high. Cast iron skillet glowing bright cherry red. Probably well over 1K. Grating completely sagged and destroyed. Screws started backing out and everything was floppy and loose like those old style kid swingsets.

Thanks much for the idea for the bullet smoker pizzas since I got my smoker grill I haven’t used mine at all since. Now to dust the cobwebs off it and drag it out of storage…

It’s the best for making pizzas outdoors, one thing I haven’t made yet is smoked pizzas, I don’t try/want to keep up with the Jones’s, I make do with what I have…there’s nothing wrong with buying those fancy cooking gadgets but it’s not for me…today is just a perfect day, so now I have all my cooking arsenals outside…

Here’s my main grill, it’s nothing fancy really didn’t need it but the wife insisted when I bought a rep for my Webber kettle after the house fire. I also have a pit dug that will fit a 100lb pig for those wild 3 day parties.

I love the way @saxo & @THCeed cook outdoors folks…back in the way back days that’s how people cooked outdoors…you both are certainly not keeping up with the Jones’s, I love it…hopefully a lot of people will be cooking outdoors today, it’s suppose to be around the mid 70’s today in central Illinois…I will be cooking outside today but still dont know what to cook yet…

Here’s another item that I bought 3yrs. ago, and its still brand spanking new…It definitely rivals a Weber grill and then some…I couldn’t pass it up for $35, end of season sale at Walmart…

This came from the JR League of Memphis cookbook. My go to pork tenderloin recipe for the last 10 years.
In the marinade in the morning, on the grill for dinner.
