They’re fearless.

I had a Black and Tan. He was beautiful, but not very smart. Absolutely fearless and true hearted. He was so pretty, simple and brave I thought he was like Sir Perceval from the Arthurian legends.

We named him “Percy” or “Sir Perceval Snowman” formally.

He was particular about people and took a minute or three to warm up to strangers. More than one got the bad side of him. -me included the first time we met.

He was a “quiet biter.” -No growls, barking or warning body language…. -just a little closer and SNAP! -Like a gator.

Even so, he turned out to be a great dog. I miss him to this day.

Minnie is actually very friendly toward other humans but will warn any dog who gets too close to me. Being difficult to housebreak, I started calling her “Puddles” and she responds to it. She’ll also eat anything I’m eating, including berries and raw vegetables. She’s not very vocal, which is a good thing. She only barks when she knows something requires my attention. A few years ago, we went to north Georgia to see the eclipse and camped out next to a small creek. I caught a couple of very small trout that swallowed the hook, so I had to dispatch them. Puddles understood that we eat fish, knew I was handling food and started begging. I gave her one and she ate it right there, head and all.

Celia is not fond of other people or dogs. She’s getting used to our feral cats when we are around, but barks at them through the window if we are not with her.

I appreciate that my growing thread is rife with Dachshund commentary! NO SARCASM!

I was a little worried we were hijacking, but am thankful for the indulgence!

Lol, it’s all good. Last time I had to move twice in one year was right after my youngest daughter’s birth 7 years ago. Sucks that I won’t have an outdoor season this year, but at least I can enjoy yours and everyone else’s outdoor grow vicariously.

You can’t spell TOUGH without OTUG!! :joy:

Well shit… the idiot neighbours cut the base stems of all Mrs. Pigeon’s wild grapes

I got outside to her legit yelling down the neighbours as they continued to look oblivious.

“They’re weeds.” They said so Mrs Pidgeon asked back “What weed is it if you seem to know better?”

“We don’t know?” they replied so she lost it on them some more with the punchline: “…and beyond your ignorance this plant was covered in garden clips to maintain it on oyr property… of which you have just now tresspassed as they aren’t even growing on your side of the property line.”

I’m livid but feeling proud she broke out her Scottish rage.

I then made her late lunch and she put on “300” as a bacground movie.

Awww man, what the hell is wrong with people??!

Exact same thing happened to me before. I asked my neighbour after she cut it down "How the hell do you think Lebanese stuffed grape leaves are made?? With grape leaves!":joy:

You should prune the tires on their car.

They don’t even live here! They just make $$$ of the kids renting it who are not allowed into the backyard… that is not maintained. Almost lol.

Starting with the photoperiod plants you can see that they are both very happy in the morning sun.

I’m so very happy I got all these metal posts last week as the wind storms and rain storms we got over this past week did damage to our neighbours roofs, moved stuff around like mad and made all the plants dance in a bad way with such heavy sustained winds. These bad-ass ladies though just shrugged it off as all their main branches are clipped to the posts so there was nay a single break!

Only thing is they are thirsty with all the transpiration from the sun and wind exposure with additional evaporation from the walls of the fabric pot. I’ve averaged giving them about 2 gallons of rainwater every other day to keep them happy.

UK CHEESE:

Today I decided to finally do some defoliation and I cleared up the interior A LOT but it’s hard to see in these photos  .

This is also now the only plant left getting BudBusterPro as all the other plants are either into week 3 of flower and/or have SO MANY flower sites that I hesitate to spray it down on all those pistils.

You can “sort-of” see what I’m talking about a little more here… (maybe?).

Manitoba Poison:

I’m floored by this plant (lol). I don’t even know where to start so all i’ve been doing is plucking off yellow leaves or any similar sinkers rather than any true defoliation. :man_shrugging:

I mean it is already so chunky with blossoms that feel like I’m just gonna ride this :roller_coaster: that can be smelled down wind from 10feet away  :+1:

And from the top.

The AUTO FLOWERS are all REAL CHARMERS as well and they are growing even better than when I ran them indoors! :open_mouth:

I don’t feel bad about this as it’s not about what I did prior but all about what I learned and have APPLIED now! :+1:

The nursery pots in the middle of the 8x4 bed are 2x Garden Huckleberry plants and 1x Catnip to keep them all protected behind the chicken wire. I offered some wet catnip to Heathcliff and he freaked out so I’m gonna try again in a few weeks with dried lol.

Here are the 8 ladies up close where you can see all those bud sites and branches popping out like madness induced by Shoggoth himself!!

On a great note someone’s kin has decided to show up yesterday with all the cuteness in tow!

Pardon the shitty digital zoom but That’s right! the Kin of Lord Bun-Bun has returned to our ecosystem and the little darling has taught us 2 things:

  1. This bunny is not smart and after walking right up to us while smoking a bowl has already has been chased and almost caught by Heathcliff if it were not for Mrs. Pigeon’s intervention.
  2. This bunny loves eating the plantain growing in the far back of the yard so I’m making sure to let it “Overgrow” in hopes that he keeps eating that and does not end up eating our veggies. :+1:

All the best to y’all and a VERY HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL :hugs:

If he’s not used to your scent and prefers your Missus scent then she’ll have to be the one to do it the first couple of times.
Then, I’ve observed, your Missus wearing huge gloves…With a tick infested property next door have the city come out collect Heathcliff and give him ALL his shots!

If your Missus has immune disorder issues make sure you check her after every interaction with Heathcliff! Uuuhhhhh have her wear those during the feedings/offerings.
Piper doesn’t just EAT the leaf’s; she LICKS them out of existence! Try rubbing the leaf’s onto the surface of the gloves
I don’t wear gloves with Piper and I have to physically restrain her so I can re-position the leaf because the licking, with her sandpaper like tongue…it hurts. She, Piper; is just excited, she means no harm!
When I move my hand away, or if there is a sudden loud noise, she goes into “flight or fight” poise, immediately! Perhaps your Heathcliff is similar…it’s new, you’re new, we all step a little lighter when we’ve been hurt/abused.

Piper had initially came to us from a multi Cat home and, I think; she just had gotten used to being “mis” treated a certain way by that owner; being the “prettiest”, which also comes with a lot of “man handling, actualtail pulling”.
As a result it’s taken Piper years to re-Warm up to lady hoomans. I have her # and that’s why she “tolerates” me. :joy:

Does Heathcliff come to you with absolutely zero background (?) so, is any guess or postulation you consider, worth taking the time for a work around? :joy_cat:

Everything Is looking fantastic, I’m loving those SPIKES and I’m super duper “JELLY”!
I want some of them! I’m going to check the local Ace store for them here. :+1:t2::sunglasses::woman_shrugging:t3:

Alas, I’m good with dowels at no bigger a diameter than the tip o’me wee pinky finger nail! :nail_care:t3:

I hope you had an excellent weekend!

Mucho Blessings, may your Trichomes continue to be super and sticky!
