Outdoor Ohio Organic grow

Rose- I am suspect of the genetics on this plant as it does not appear like Ed Rosenthal Super Bud pictures. Currently she is stacking nicely and has a very diesel smell. Beautiful, dense buds. Found a few small spots of rot but I think it may have been wet dead leaves on top of a few flower. To be safe I chopped them off. Still lots more that is clear. Defoliated quite a bit to allow for increased airflow and the fact that she is close to done I figure taking to many leaves off cant hurt that much now. She is being propped up with a ton of stakes. This is one resilient plant. Hope she smokes good cause I have a few more seeds and would like to try and make my own fem seeds next year.

When trimming the Skunk, I found a few immature seeds. Hoping there are a few mature ones. The father would be the Gorilla Zkittles.
Not sure if these would pop or not. I will be looking though.

Here is a picture of the other SS I entrusted to a family member this past spring. Not bad for a 10 gal pot and a first time grow. We have already talked about him putting at least 3 in the ground next year. It will all be OG seeds I have received here.
She definitely has so.e problems because if the weather change. Advised him to chop that crap off straight away and try to get her to the finishing line. This one was grown with Flora Nova grow, bloom, Liquid bloom and kool bloom flower finisher. Curious how it smokes to mine which was 100 organic.

The rot is setting in so the ladies are coming down.

Orange Swamp is first.

The bulk of everything is down. Way to much to trim. Those that trim regurally I salute you.

So because of several variables I decided to conduct experiments since I will have far more than I need. And I need a lot.

Anyhow, here we go…

SuperSkunk- I harvested this lady and did a wet trim on her. She hung for 5 days and then I bucked the buds off and placed them in a large plastic tote. Once humidity meter hit 60% I put the buds in mason jars with each jar having one ounce give or take a few grams. I started burping twice daily. When trimming 7 mature seeds fell. I could see more but figured future me would like some bag seed.;). Either the full moons caused it, or my suspicion is that the Gorilla Zkittles got her prior to culling. I will see what happens. If I find enough seed which I am sure I will, I am more than happy to share, just let me know. If I can, I will.
Smoke report- Speed dried to test. Average potency but there is a distinct smell when combusted that takes me way back in time. That alone is worth it.

OSB- Also wet trimmed this one and it is currently drying. Speed dried a sample and very strong with a smooth flavor. Very young but definitely will get better with time and one I wished I knew what it was. Heavy yielder in a compact frame. Still smells like oranges.

Rose- Because of time constraints, this is where science kicks in. I did not trim her at all, and only seperated the limbs to hang. I do not have the capacity to hang the whole plant so I did the best I could. I will dry it until the snap is heard and then trim and jar. While dry trimming will suck royally I am hoping the damage to tricomes will be less and the net result will be better. I have studied both sides of the argument and so I will let science decide. I do have my personal hypothesis but we shall see. I left some lower branches alive and intact to allow for them to either rot or turn more amber. I wish to experience more ambered buds to determine my preference.

Five on the Side- This ol gal is getting it done. Unfortunately she showed the most bud rot by far. Took most of her down and did not trim, I simply cut away the bad and hung to dry, fan leaves and all. Again part of the experiment. I did speed dry some bud and I really wish I knew what this was. Super stoney. I did leave one main cola and several lower branches intact to allow for them to finish. I want to turn the tricomes amber to compare. I figure this way I can determine for myself what is best regarding tricome coloring.

Final update on this grow log. All the plants are down. The majority of the plants are jarred and being burped daily.

I have determined to turn it all into RSO minus five on the side since she is to Sativa leaning. She did have botryitis so I should have a few ounces to enjoy.

Moving forward I will be growi g for RSO so I am looking for high thc Indica strains.
