Overgrow.com: Let's Talk About the Future

right man, we have a few members going through it and everyone seems to pitch in, but its always when something happens and we are not prepared for it. We need a little preventive maintenance.

Yeah I kinda jumped the gun on locking out participation unless you pay the troll toll so to speak.

People shouldn’t be barred from participating

I’m just spit ballin here.

How bout a shop for the site? Buy merch and fund servers. There’s another forum Im a part of and I buy pretty much every t shirt they make.

I would love that , could even do a monthly art contest, winner get their art on an OG shirt in the shop or something. lots of stuff made easy with print on demand even if they take a big chunk.

I feel people just want to be involved in something.

Edit: this appears to be in place already on the sidebar.

OG as a community has a lot of extremely knowledgeable members, across multiple disciplines.

Perhaps a “lecture series” or something. Where the video was available later to all members in the interest of sharing info, but pay an event specific fee to submit questions or be on the video call live, or supporters only to attend live, or supporters get access to the video earlier.

Not quite the podcast idea, but a specific “Person Here To Talk About A Topic In An Educational Way” sort of thing.

Membership could skyrocket. What then ? Always have a best case scenario in mind.

An OG store. With good stuff hunted/thinked with the community.
Maybe not seeds, it’s looking like a touchy subject (i don’t get it but i’m able to respect).
But it’s giving a margin to a shit ton of others products …

I took in count the whole equation and an estimation at 50K/year to cover the goal. This is the option then, that i find the more rational in taking all in count.

The debate is enough dope to read to add another layer of opinion and comment, so i pass.

The price of a pack of seeds buys me the simple pleasure of being ‘crew’, not ‘cargo’.
Part of the ‘entertainment budget’…don’t care where the $$$ goes.

I agree that OG should remain open, it’s not always feasible to become a member or get your details linked to a grow forum. Security reasons and non legal countries for example.

It’s a pleasure to have a place with like minded people who are passionate about this plant and the community vibes here are inspiring. This is a big reason to become member and I’m convinced it is like this for many of us.

Now, this has probably came up before and I can see the intentions for limited likes, getting more when you get a higher trust level. There’s definitely something to it, stimulating to like the best content.

However, I have been reading a lot of great content here and going through a few interesting threads a day, I’m constantly out of love to share. There’s a backlog of threads that I have been really enjoying and wanting to like but its only getting worse :upside_down_face:

There’s just so much good content and I feel bad for not being able to show my appreciation. If I don’t like something, I will not be liking that.

Sorry for not liking anything above, there’s some great suggestions but I am clearly out of likes again

Thanks @LemonadeJoe for reviving OG and I hope the future will bring sunshine to all.

I guess that the likes limitations are here to prevent abuses, but i don’t find any real utility of this. Restricting free distribution of love … quite a concept.

Let us roll with the best leaves and blunts around, branded OG. Water cans and scissors too ^^ Can be dope on growlogs lol

I’m fine with the likes having a limit but maybe there could be a larger increase for going up to TL2 and TL3?

I believe TL3 Regular members already have the benefit of more likes to give compared to TL2. As stated in the Explaining user trust levels and permissions thread:

Daily like limit increased by 2×

Many blessings and much love

I never understood that concept myself . Other forums had that limitation as well. It never really made sense why it was that way

I bet Xenforo doesn’t limit likes.

You could surely set the permissions that way if you chose to. That’s neither here or there.

Yep yep! TL2 & TL3 already have more than TL1… but I still always run out. So it’d be cool if those levels get even more than they already have right now
