I love bowhunting, chasing giants is my greatest passion. For me it is the challenge of getting them close. I’m lucky to live in one of the best places in the world to do that and have access to good managed private property. It’s got tough to find ground here and from what I hear it’s tough everywhere. I do wish I had a place on a good lake, Ive got a small pond but I need a good big stocked farm pond for food

Used to love it also, the only one in the wood.
Northern Illinois down thru the center of the state is just awesome for big bucks.
I was mostly a meat hunter, nice big fat 200 lb does.
Here’s my last one

ROCK ISLAND COUNTY.
Rapids city, Ill.
Hills running parallel with the Mississippi just awesome bowhunting, hunting period.

Very nice buck. Back when I still hunted I used to roam central illinois. I never did see the point in trophy’s myself and never had one made but do appreciate how they look.

I usually harvest them right after rut…early December.Im just south of the prairie in Illinois. Great hunting. I’ll see if I can find some pics without a person in them

Oh yea. I’ll quit posting deer pics here and shoot some to you. We can get back to the main topic. Maybe come fall we can do a deer pic thread.

Heres one I shot from 1000yds with my Barat 50, it was a 10 pointer. Weighed 250Lbs and cost a fortune to get it stuffed and mounted

Yeah I am a Vegetarian Hunter, specializing in large species, I got 40lb cabbage on the other wall manged to hit that from 50yds with my black powder buffalo gun. Cabbages tend to herd a bit like buffalo so I find they are easy to pick off so long as you dont spook them.
