How are you guys/gals getting photos of trichomes through a jeweler’s loupe? I can’t seem to get any to come out right.
Takes a bit of practice finding the correct focal distance between the camera, loupe, and subject matter. I usually ended up taking dozen photos for every keeper.
I don’t use a loupe but make that 2 dozen for me.
But I agree, fiddling with distance etc
I’ve had better luck with dual magnifying glasses than I ever did with a loupe.
You’d be better off with a USB magnifier, it’s a game changer.
Oops, wrong USB magnifier…
Thank you @Oldtimerunderground for the optics upgrade
Somebody went for the optional microscope stand
Those are underrated…You can do nice work with them.
Cheers

You’re welcome Loph!!

Lots of great options available with various features.
Mine is 20 years old and analog as shit:
Does the job but pics are tricky
Those iphone pics are amazing!
Looks like I’ll be using the girlfriends phone from now on…
Wow, phone only! Thats a huge step forward. Looks incredible. Are you point and shoot or manual settings? Android here… no way to get that macro!!!
Point and shoot, it autofocuses when you get in close. All I do is zoom in
Between the camera and the Photone app I take back everything bad I said about people who finance their phones. It’s kinda worth the $40/month especially since I only pay 15 for service
Still experimenting. The jewelers loupe seems like wasted money. I found my usb microscope, it’s a little better. Nothing like what you guys/gals are posting. Trying to figure out when to harvest. Its been almost 9 weeks since flipping to 12/12.
Manual and auto depends on my situation i have the samsung S21 Ultra and i literally took my jewelers loop apart do i can make a clip on lens for my phone
