🌱 Plant's Grow Journal

Somehow, I doubt that! LOL!

You’re right, I already ordered more … okay enough until the fall

Might start flowering these bushes tonight -or- take clones and start them in a week. Either way they are getting too big to keep around and should get a decent haul. Have to finish my setup tonight if I have time and get both tents fully operational, then some transplants.

A week into flowering tomorrow, a few shots of the little ones too.

Happy growing

Thanks

My first hydro attempt. My water is 240 - 300 ppm out of the tap and rises about 1.0 if I let it sit for 24 hours, took me about a month to get the feeding/nutes right with tap water. Too many buckets for reverse or distilled Hopefully next run I’ll have the entire 4x8 filled with buckets and some outdoors girls in a little greenhouse.

Beginning the second week into 12/12 and the stretch is on, up’d the ppm a little. Can you guess which is the male? I’m thinking 1/2 oz of pollen?

Romulan from Federated (still double checking these ones) came in and popped half of the JOTI and the a few more of the Argyle (saving a few of each now for some experiments, in-virto or give them to friends), tails are out so time to go into soil and see if they’re strong enough to keep. White Widow were only 2/5 and have been the worst, although Durban were 5/5, same breeder :(, at least the two are strong. Always popping and looking for good ones for mothers or clones, culling and selecting the best from each batch. Still waiting on about 4-5 strains from various orders. After that I should have as solid 20 strains running and in a few months have the best selected out of each batch (5 strains already done) to run clones.

Hopefully one more month and some ladies go outside.

Stay safe out there

Federation romulan?? Sweet score! That’s one legendary strain that I’ve still yet to try.

Really nice and pro looking setup, everything is running great. That OG kush sure looks like it will be something cool, not to mention the 800 other killer strains you’re working with lol

Nice orchids too :rosette:

I’m not 100% on the Romulan … got excited and ordered but doing a little research and gathering info. I guess running them would be a good way to be sure they are what I ordered. When I know for sure I’ll post the link but don’t want anyone to get ripped off.

I’m excited, the OG Kush was a good trade. Problem is most people I trade with don’t know or care about the breeders and I take their word. Can’t wait to get clones and into buckets but probably at least two month away from flowering that one.

Doing some physical distancing today with the males and females. Males now have their own tent in a separate room. Think I’ll get a little 4" fan to run out the window for now and try to get pollen without impregnating the females, wish me luck :crossed_fingers: Probably the last res change for the guys, just top ups now to keep them from moving too much. Makes numbers better, down from 20 in a 4x4 to 16, about 1 plant per sq/ft for flowering. Males get 3 plants in their 3x3, but won’t be more than a few more weeks then they get the chop.

Soaking some Romulan, pretty sure they are good. I’ve ordered multiple times from this vendor and all the seeds seem to be cannabis, lol. Also they are a verified vendor for a few breeders. The seeds are all different, if they were trying to screw people I assume they’d send out the same seeds for everything?

Also made a little DWC cup for the contest.

Ghetto Pollen Filter

I saw a little one on-line using a Rubbermaid, 4" computer fan and HEPA filters so I made this one a little larger for a tent.

  • 4" fan
  • fan controller
  • dryer exhaust mount
  • 4" ducting
  • duct tape
  • HEPA filter
  • silicone

Cut the filters to match the holes int he dryer exhaust. I made two filters just in case.

Apply silicone around the openings, place in filters, apply more silicone and push in with fingers, then apply final silicone bead around the edge of the filters. Wait to dry.

Apply ducting with duct tape to make sure it’s air tight.

Hang fan in the tent and dryer mount outside of the tent, connecting everything with ducting tape to make sure it’s air tight. Keep a negative pressure on the tent.

We’ll see if it works  Hopefully this and in another room will be good separation from the females.

EDIT: So far is keeps the humidity and temps down; also negative pressure in the tent although airflow is not as much as I’d like

14 days into flowering and pistols are firing.

Clones are coming along in buckets; probably take a lot of clones tomorrow. Always culling clones for the best ones. Sometimes I switch buckets or only have 2-3 plants a bucket keeping the fastest and best growers. Don’t mind the bottom leaves; I use water to clone in the buckets so often they have a little damage on the bottom few leaves. Another few weeks and I’ll put a few more buckets into the flowering tent.

And finally some seedlings and soil girls I have going. They generally are neglected and on the edge of the tents. I only get them large enough to get clones so they don’t grow too fast, but I don’t mind how long things take to grow as long as you get a good rotation going. Some Durban, Widow and Hindu babies.

Males are releasing a little pollen, got a little today. Hopefully fill a vile by the end of their cycle. This was a test for the chamber and collection but seems to be going well, hopefully none escapes and no pollination. I only want things I do by hand to show seeds :).

Just making some seeds, not trying to be a breeder, big difference IMO. Like Todd was talking about with dog breeding, lots of different opinions and stuff going on out there; AKC/CKC, designer, factories, personal and loving homes … Next I’m going to do testing for cannabinoids with my kits, hopefully they’re here soon. I’m thinking ON Haze and Romulan. If all the F1’s are similar no need to do anything, if not then maybe make a few 1000 F2’s of each and sib/back cross similar ones to get a good mother from each strain. If they are maybe run some seeds just to test the F2’s for fun to test and give them out. You never know as my garden keeps growing. I’d think if F1’s are done properly the F2’s should be close. Again I refer back to dogs, if you breed two labs you should end up with a lab. Will that lab be AKC/CKC? maybe? Should you breed all the puppies together? maybe? I guess it depends on what you’re starting with and where you want to end up, and how good the original breeder was.

We’ll see … lot of things going on so probably going to take a break for a while.

Happy Growing :seedling:
