Point Break Grow Journal

Hey guys,
I started a few Point Breaks by Baked Beanz aka @SamwellBB that I receive from @Sebring.
Tent I am growing them in is 4 x 4 x 8 with a 1200W Viparspectra LED Full Spectrum Grow Light. They were put into cups on January 27 and now are in 3 gallon pots. The soil is Fox Farm Ocean and the nutrients used is from General Hydroponics, Flora Grow, Bloom, Micro Combo set.
I will update soon.

Point Break # 1

Looking good! Have you finished a crop with that light before? What is the actual power draw?

I was curious of this too its 520 actual pull which makes it a great deal for the price and it’s Amazon choice lol

Just looked it up, its 520 watt. That’s 32.5w/sq. ft. That’s a decent number for led. Personally I would add a bit more.

You sure it’s 520? Thats high. @ShuswapSmoke I’m thinking 200 real draw?

Amazon says 520 power draw it’s pretty high rated

Damn that’s good then. Idk about the price. I saw some cheap Chinese for about 100 bucks a piece. With that price I can grab three lights. 240w each quantum boards. But I think as we learn more about lights we make better decisions. Lots of people talk bad about the Chinese stuff but if we are being honest and open almost everything in America is Chinese import to some degree. But im hi.

Ya that is actually impressive for a light on amazon! I am running a cob build I did with citizen 1212, 12 of them drawing 930watt. Its retarded in a 4x4. I am getting one of those 240 meiju (spelling) qb’s for my veg, and get rid of the Chinese blurples

Plants are looking very happy! I have a little point break going myself. Sounded like an interesting one. Has been pretty trouble free for me so far.

Look forward to watching your grow.

Yeah you could look into how much light is too much light too. I was just reading a article about how plants can shut down with to intense of a light source. But you definitely have a powerful sun!!!

Ive been running it for 2 years almost exactly. Check out my threads.

@Hashtree What is the lineage of those?

I had to get knee surgery and brought my 4 outdoors into my 6x4 to finish. Way too small of a space. I ran that light and a 600 hps over top. With the ballast at 100 percent is showed signs of too much

I have had this light for a a little over a year. It was the best choice at the time, dollar wise and draw wise. I think it works great (for my needs). I am in a state that says we can’t grow at home and I never grow more than 5-6 plant’s at a time. I TRY to stay below the felony level, Incase shit pops off.
Overall, I have not had any issues with this light.
