A big Hello to all you OVERGROWers! from out here on the Thirdcoast.
So, Gotta tell ya…I’m super grateful for our Canna family.
I had a pump failure/operator error issue recently that caused me to loose all my plants in veg and left me (not) high and (looking at being) dry come later this summer…not a good place to be.
Reached out to an old friend and now I’ve got some things to hold me over until I can get some seeds sexed for the fall.
I have two selections from TonyGreens Tortured Beans to work with BubbleHead (Headbanger x Gorilla Bubble) and Pine Tar Gush (Pine Tar Kush x Gorilla Bubble).
They spent a week under t5s building some roots and now are getting hardened off under leds.
In the end…there can be only one! lol… sometimes I like to run one big plant per light, this feels like one of those times.
The PTG looks like it will out grow BH in the stretch 10x and that will fill a 4x4 table quickly… and time is factor… hmm… * maybe the BH gets a light of its own, maybe*
Ok…da plants are getting used to the light. They have been getting 24 hours, going to cut back to 18/6 on Tuesday until they fill out and then its off to flower…probably a week to ten days…soon as roots are popping out of the new pots.
Currently they are sharing a HLG 550 and It looks like I’m gonna run’em both…why not? right, life is short.
The BubbleHead will get the 550 and the PineTar Gush will go under a HLG Scorpion 650. Going to train PTG out into a screen and let the BH go natural.
I grow in coir, when transplanting I come in hot with extra calcium and magnesium to buffer the media and at this point get the plants juiced for the stretch…that 1480ppm is 150 ppm of tap water…150ppm of Calcium Metalosate … and 50 ppm Epsom salt … 1130ppm of my base feed…and a splash of Mr. Fulvic to bring a little hippie to the party. That should set them up for a strong stretch.
Its not a day that ends in a Y if did not snap a branch off of the BubbleHead…the old twist and pinch ain’t agreeing with this girl…whatever, I’ll leave you alone…for now.
The PineTar Gush…has plenty of branches though, and they don’t mind bending…she got stuffed under a screen and flattened out to bask in the glory of her own light.
They are both getting used to their new shoes and looking good…few more days to get them both bigger and then its go time.
Probably could have used a bigger pot for the PTG… not to worry though…I will set up some irrigation later today. The 3 gallons pots should facilitate multiple feeds per day with good dry down between.
Hope you all are taking time to smell the roses and enjoy some summer weather
She does not look like stretcher…the foot print from the HLG 550 should do her right…3x3…hopefully…I gotta quit snapping her braches or there won’t be anything left to flower…lol.
Have you flowered out the PTG?..looks like she is going to have legs.
Tripped the lights to 12/12 yesterday…so let’s call today Day 1 of flower…and for those of you keeping track…that puts 70 days of 12/12 on August 21st.
Made a simple irrigation rig. Makes the summer days more enjoyable when you don’t have to worry about watering…lets me getaway to the cabin for extended periods too.
Just a trash can, small pump, some 1/2" pvc, top hat grommets and irrigation line.
I gotta thang for SwampBoys Seeds. Had really good luck with a bunch of their gear… they recently had a drop and I could not resist. Picked up some L3G3ND…Gelato 33 x. Legend OG x The White OG. Hoping to get to these in the fall.
