Question about Harvest and process Seeds

Very cool. Looks a bit more high-tech than my tilted newspapers lol. I just sorted seed from my fall harvest yesterday as a matter of fact.

I’m printing that file as we speak. Thanks for posting it.

Cool! Please let us know how it goes and how it works! I think it was an early prototype, but he may have updated it already. Good luck!

Yes Doug, I like the fan idea more than the vacuum…I can just see me endlessly having to empty the vac and start over! :upside_down_face:

I haven’t found an update if there is one. Looks like it should work.

Coming out nicely so far. I’m going to design a clear cover for it and maybe a couple of drawers to pull out the trash and seeds without the need to unscrew the cover.

I just crumble the buds into a kitchen sieve and scrape everything around till 90-95% of the chaff has been knocked away. Then it’s back to old school with a card so I can pressure test any suspicious looking seeds. True, some white seeds will sprout, but their success and survival at already at a disadvantage. If they Crack with just a quick squeeze, the get tossed. Approximately 10,000 seeds to me 3 distracted evenings to fully clean them. 30,000? Yeah I can see a separator of some sort.

I’ve tried the hair dryer trick, and while it works, it is not perfect. I have a half dozen little wild ones of my back porch from not catching what blew away.

So true!
I dumped my ‘rejects’ into the kitchen worm bin… There was a forest of seedlings in there a couple days later…
