They still have veg kits and flower kits available. I would call them tomorrow and explain your intent as there is a few very different options available. Or reach out via Text on their website. Super fast response. I don’t want to oversell this, but they have really taken care of me.
What is there shipping cost like? That is another issue with why I use amazon, Free shipping. I really cant afford to drop 175 on a light and another 30 in shipping.
Consider using the center 3x3 space of your 4x4 tent for now, and just get a good 3x3 light if budget is tight.
I’d recommend the Mars Hydro TSW 2000, it’s an older style light that’s pretty heavily discounted at this point. Buy direct from Mars rather than using amazonbay.
Another viable and affordable option is a single ended 315 watt CMH fixture and bulb, however this generates LOTS of heat. This would crush a 3x3 space.
315 CMH is having a rebirth these days. I have been impressed with what they are capable of.I over looked those for years thinking HPS was king for flowering. Now my electric bill steers the ship lol Cali is out of hand on kilowatt per hour.
You just have to shut 'er down at peak hrs if you can. 5pm-8pm no matter what ideally you should have NO lights running. I have my timers set to 8:05pm on just in case. Makes a noticeable difference on the bill
That used to be true for Cali. But things have changed. The peak times are now spread throughout the day and night. Cost the same day or night. The benefit for us would be lower temperatures while we’re running. We just had to become more efficient around here. The power bills were shocking lol…
If the power bills weren’t enough, our governor outlawed all HID lighting. Started the beginning of this year. No more sales in Cali. We lost that and gas lawnmowers this year lol…
Ive had decent production from inexpensive Bestva boards from amazon. Not bad for $140 per light. First one was 1 200w in a 2x 4, pulled 10 oz of bud off 2 plants not including larf. Bought a second to run side by side in the 4x4 last winter. Got right about 20 oz. I will say now though in the 4x4 if I could go bar style I would for better coverage at the edges/corners.
The bar styles are excellent options. I don’t know of any in that price point That I’ve ran. I can tell you though HLG and many others may be available to you lightly used on one of the many online communities facebook marketplace, Craigslist ect…. Many growers that did not have mentors are turning really good gear on the market available cheaply. Hopefully, you can find something locally you might get real lucky. Just ask anybody here if it’s a good light if you have any questions in regards to what you may find out there.
For got to mention Offer Up lots of opportunities…
