Question for those with AC infinity tents

Just want to thank everyone for all the help getting everything ordered. I went with two vipraspectra pro xs1500s with all the bells and whistles. 6 inch cloudline fan/filter.

I’m still considering switching to a taller tent before the Amazon order goes through but I think I made the overall right decision considering the low winter temps I’ll be battling… assuming less cubic feet is easier to heat. Planning to mount the fan and filter outside of tent.

Won’t really know until I just start I guess… plus the aci tent was less than $100 after all the rebates.

It’s still 6 feet tall and with no hvac in there i hope that should leave enough room. plan to top and train my plants as well.

That being said- Does anyone have any feedback using the 6’ tents- specifically in cold environments? This is the only item in the entire order I’m questioning.

I still don’t know if I’m going to run 3 or 5 gallon pots, etc.

I was looking at this one:

Or an OG model Gorilla Grow Tent for $285 local shop.

Thanks again for all the feedback everyone- I;m fully aware I’m leaning into my neurosis with this. I need my decisions to be PERFECT =P

I don’t have an ACI but I have a 6’ tent and it can get as cold as 13-14C in the winter. No problem.

I’m looking at ambient garage temps of 45 F or 7C IN the garage… Do you use supplemental heating?
I’ve seen your threads and you have some nice grows- Do you run photos in the 6 foot?

Looking at possibly mounting a couple of these to run 24/7:

7C is pretty cold and I think without a heat source you may have problems. I don’t use supplemental heat. Like many things with my space I just have to live with it.

I do run photos. And usually it’s just fine, unless you veg too long.

If you’re running long flowering really stretchy sativas…well…it can be done but it’s a real bitch.

I mean I’d like the ability to run anything including sativas… I do like controlling the grows with topping and zip ties and all that… sounds like 6 feet without the HVAC is at least worth trying a single run with…I’ll probably try with the ACI and just immediately buy a new tent if the plants are stretching too much

I’m going to winterproof my garage this winter so I can probably get that up to 50F and possibly run an oil heater in there to get it up to around 60F. Keep the air exchange to a minimum when lights are off, etc.

Yeah my plants will die if I don’t get the heat up significantly.

It’s 70F down there now!! I just don’t have the stuff yet!!

I grew some hazes awhile back that would have gotten 6’ tall without heavy training. Considering a foot for the pot, a foot for mechanicals, and a foot for canopy distance from the light it’s really not that much to work with. I managed to get it done but I had to buy myself 2’ which wasn’t easy.

This was an extreme example. The overwhelming majority of things you might grow would not apply to this.

That’s the sort of feedback I was looking for @Foreigner - It’s really appreciated.
IIRC you’re running 250 watts in one of your tents with a Migro Array 4?

I think this is a good place to start considering all of the variables I’m looking at.

240 actually but yes.

Also note that my veg cab, which I sometimes flower in, is only 40” tall. You can make anything work you just have to be strategic about it.

You have eased my mind for the time being  @Foreigner I’m gonna go check out some of your grows now.

Let me know if you have any questions about them. There’s more material in the goes legal than the remains legal thread.

How long do you usually veg a photo? What size pots do you use? Clone-only, from seed? I read somewhere that clones tend to be shorter in the end.

  • Ok i’ll check that thread out.

The answer to both unfortunately is it depends.

I tend to run smaller pots. 1G usually, sometimes 3. The primary difference is how often you need to water.

For vegging, it depends what it is. That’s one thing that’s so great about OG genetics. You can see a fully documented grow and know how much she will or will not stretch.

Almost always from seed.

I’ve got a couple nice seed packs from a couple of users on here from back in 2017- I

have them in a storage unit I’m gonna go grab them today and see what I have… I know one is a 2017 gg4, can of hammers, cant remember the others, maybe GDP. @99PerCent

Nice Pick on the lites. You.wont be disappointed with them. My buddy grew his very first plant under one and the weed came out better than my run.

I prefer a taller tent myself. 1 time purchase, may as well spend a few more $ to get as much utility as possible out of it.

Which is why it’s been such a hard choice. Seems like all the other brands have 80" or taller options.

But like i was saying higher up… it may actually be an advantage during the winter due to the low temps garage, less space to keep at 80 degrees… certainly isn’t a price or a space limitation thing… I had 2k set aside for this and I barely broke $700 total

I am just guessing here but I don’t think a foot less in height will make a significant difference in keeping your tent warmer. Maybe an inline fan ducted from the house air into the tent to make it warmer.

Oh man that’s good thinking actually- I could pull 70 degrees from the house and seal off the tent completely (rather than $$ heating up the gargage- if only my wife would be ok with me drilling through the wall)

Im.full of good ideas. Inline fan ducted from a window to the reservoir in winter is how I run rdwc without a water chiller

Spend your extra cheese on that ac infinity heater that warms the tent? That way I can see how dope they are without buying one myself

Vivosun 2x4s look like they top out at 6’ - Spider Farmer makes an 80" or Gorilla Grow $300 expandable up to like 8 feet.

I guess I would lean toward the SF 80" or the $300 Gorilla Grow Tent-

The AC heater- I would but they don’t ship to Alaska and they don’t have it stocked on Amazon.
