Any recommendations growmie?
Im growing in a mix of Berger #6 peat/perlite mix that i add powdered Basalt to and i toss in a good dose of malted two row barley and Brut ECW (loaded with nematodes BTW frikken awesome dirt gnat larvae murderer)I use exclusively nothing but Dr Earth bag dry amendments The pure gold for Veg and the Dr Earth Flower girl. For liquid i have used Foxfarm big bloom in smaller half doses as a supplement i stress half doses that stuff can be hot sometimes have been known to use Clonex seedling and Clone solution in small potted plants as a quick nutrient buffer in extreme cases vary rarely in some that sit in the pot too long before transplant and do that droop thing when thr rootballs too big and needa an uppot. My indoor Mix is the exact same as my Outdoor i dont change a thing So i guess i use a wannabe organic set up for my soil kind of a hybrid system that is probably an oxymoron but Goddamn does she work.Anything can be achieved when you dial in what you got and what you have as long as you got the right knowledge i guess. This place has been like the library of alexandria for cannabis knowledge its a real Rosetta stone to growing epicurean Ganja Unless your going for a purist or KnF hardcore mode i say it can definitely be done
yeah, i have the confidence/experience now to do something like that. but still run into bottleneck with flowering. i only have the garage space for that and it’s probably the smallest with (sadly) weakest lighting systems
i did build my spaces with modularity in mind so changes can and do happen.
i had considered keeping zone1 as a flower space to help with the bottleneck issue… i had just harvested right after christmas… but getting my hands on @misterbee 's lavender and knowing what i know about the terp profile and its relation to abuela’s condition, i decided i HAD to keep the strain hunt marching on. the rarity of these seeds kind of dictates it as well. (thanks again for sharing those with us misterbee - appreciate you sir) the strain hunt must continue. the clock ticks. i don’t want to sound morbid, but i feel the pressure to get this done and find the right stuff… she continues to decline despite our combined efforts.
yeah… i f^cking LOVE this place!
The Morbidity thing hits hard when you look at your bean hoard and add up how much time you have left to grow them all.I always tell myself pop 3 more every time i drop in water now
Individual buckets, Jack’s 321, Jack’s finish, GH humic, silica and a drop of bleach once and awhile to keep everything sterile in tap water. Spend the money and buy a really good ph sensor it is the most important factor in nutrient uptake. I lollipop every plant and completely defoliate on day one and 21 of flower… I’m talking every leaf with a stem. Then sit back till harvest other than supporting branches and adding nutrients, I rarely do a full bucket change, let the ppm guide whether you add nutes or just water.
DUDE! If anyone needs an H0CL generator it’s you!!!
edit: I use my H0Cl in my res when Hydro; it’s just homemade dripclean!
Yea I’ve thought about it, did you get one? How big is it?
That’s awesome. Thanks!
If you have other, more specific questions hit me up and check out my thread.
Im dying to know did anything of yours outside get any bit of mold from PM to Botrytis with the use of that Fogger and HypoChlor?Anything at all?
Yes. I love the thing, saved my ass vs pm/budrot outdoors this past Fucktember.
I got this one as I also bought a fogger:
https://www.amazon.ca/Electrolyzed-Generate-Disinfectant-hypochlorous-Degreaser/dp/B01LM3U9K4
There are other ones out there that can make 5 gallons at a time. Best to check out the H0Cl thread as Bob aka @BudBusterPro really dropped some seriously hardcore information as per his standard!
Nothing. Nothing at all! Freaking blows my mind TBH. I defoliated like a nutter and fogged near daily in the end with the Buddhas Cane as those nugs were rock hard fists in the rain. I did a 4 stage wash as always with any outdoors here in Canuck Mordor aka Toronto.
H202->Lemon/B.Soda->Water->Water
Anything that may have survived the H0Cl treatment didn’t make it past the wash.
110% do recommend.
I know what im getting for springtime i tell you what.I lost about a lb outside out of just shy of 10 lbs so i couldnt be too butthurt but They were some massive buds like Negans baseball bat the Botrytis this year with the constant overcast days because of months of Canadian wildfires blowing over to Western NY.Was the worse PM and Mold year i ever seen If it werent for the Dr Zymes i would have been completely Fucked that stuff arrested the Rot but the damage was done thank god i caught it in time didnt burn one pistil buds came out clean symes killed the mold. That was even with sulpher treatment up to the day of first hair popped out then stop.I bet you a 1969 silver dollar if i had that Hypo and Fogger inwouldnt have a damn thing. You guys are on to something and i want inz
I would literally sit there giggling, all day… Nice work
I will agree with @LD50 about going just to living soil, but it is a personal preference for sure.
Hydroponics are great because the roots are surrounded directly by water, oxygen, and nutrients. No searching necessary. Everything is readily available all the time. I also think this is why hydroponics is difficult. Throw a concentration or pH off a little bit and it can be catastrophic if not caught in time. The yield and growth rate from hydro are 100% be edits though. There is more time needed though to mix, pH, feed, and flush.
I prefer living soil for a few reasons. Healthy soils grow healthy plants. Living soils can be self correcting, disease suppressive, and buffer themselves from pH swings. The trade off is slower growth rate and less yield compared to a plant grown in hydro. However, I think hydro, even good hydro, lacks the depth of smell and flavor as soil. Mostly because of microbes and their stimulation of secondary metabolites.
You can get microbial supplements for hydro that might help, but I dont have experience with those. There are some mixes that have been studied and appear to work in other plants, but I haven’t seen anything in cannabis yet.
I have done both in the past, and my goals growing now are to just produce something tasty for my friends and me and yield isn’t a big concern. Other circumstances or situations may place a bigger premium on yield.
2.5 gallons seams extremely small for organic soil with a 2 month veg.
Pot size might be the issue why your not getting the yield or size your looking for
those are the ones that fit the space. i get anywhere from 3-6oz per plant. lasts about as long as it takes me to grow another one.
i grow much larger pots outside.
Yeah, but only like 4ml in a 30 res. I was adding around 10 times that, but it was making the water smell like death and leaving clear-brown stuff floating around and in the bottom after it drained.
Anything with GMO in it seems a good bet. I’ve got a cross that’s great and @JoeCrowe is growing the real thing.
Being IN Canada I had shit go into flower early summer because of that and then reveg and then flower again! It was dumb.
Thanks @Qtip !
