My prime concern with this mix would be low calcium, but I’m curious to see how it goes either way. Good luck!

Dr.Earth (Tomato and Herb 4-6-3)
Is loaded with 7.5% Calcium

Out of curiosity @Til_Valhalla do you top dress with Dr. Earth’s throughout your grows?

dr. earth has calcium in it, and garden (dolemite) lime is mega calcium (6 different types of calcium and 3 types of magnesium)

typically, yes.
the exception being if i have run out and need to use up my giai green stock (not much left… i prefer dr.earth over giai green any day all day). i top dress once a month (though have considered doing it every 3 weeks instead of 4… will consider for coming outdoor season)

the only other fertilizer i use is the alaska fish fertilizer (5-1-1 veg) and alaska bloom (0-11-11 flower).
those go once a week on “fertilizer fridays”.

i also do compost teas twice a month. both foliar spray and soil drench.
my teas aren’t too complex… just worm castings and molasses in a brew bag. (1 cup castings, 2 tbsp molasses) only cook for 24hrs (36 max). if’s i’m feeling wild, i’ll throw a tbsp of dr.earth tomato and herb in the mix too.

Gotcha - just from a mineral balancing perspective it seems low to me, but I know guys like Mr Canuck have been very successful with the coir+aeration+castings+dry amendment (I think he uses gaia green?) mix.

i have NEVER had a calcium or magnesium issue with the dr.earth/garden lime/epsom salt mix.
works like a charm.

yes. he grows some amazing looking stuff.
i saw one of his most recent videos. looks like he’s sponsored by giai green now, so that’s all he runs. regardless, his technique is very good.

I run a hybrid setup. Coco, compost, cheap salts and some organics.
