Used plastic mulch with clover in between rows. I’ll need to learn how to make labs. Regalia is cost prohibitive
Yeah only used regalia because a homie brought it over!
I think the cheapest way to go about it would be labs….essentially rotten milk.
I’m just trying to use this outbreak as a breeding power selection where I can easily identify lines that are worth moving forward with in terms of outdoor production.
Because ultimately, growing strains that can produce nugs with high bag appeal along with a high disease and pest resistance are what I am after. Easier said than done! But at least after this year I will have made a big step forward on the leaf disease resistance.
Same here. My two most resistant strains are ghost og and rainbird.
New York here. My season is usually done October 10ish. How about you?
Cool! Are they both cuts that you hold onto? Obviously ghost og is a cut only, but never heard of rainbird. I ran ghost og x iranian from ogs that was pretty amazing, but I think it is discounted?
About the same weather as you at 42N zone 6
The ghost og is a cut. The rainbird I’m trying to save.
Cool thanks for the info @Emeraldgreen ! Would love to see you hold onto rainbird! Hope we could trade for the ghost someday.
Harvested some iranian early flower before the rain storms.
Also found 8+ lbs of chicken of the woods on one of our willow trees. Still more to be had just need to get on a ladder! Took it to market to sell for 20/lb!
I hope you’ll give a smoke report on the Iranian. Just hope it’s THC-dominant, unless you want CBD-dominant.
Looking good @Emeraldgreen ! I am looking forward to watching watching how she finishes for you! What is the lineage of rain bird?
Well I have been pollinating the past couple days.
Hit all the pnwhp x puck plants with friesland m33 pollen. Seems about 25% of the pnwhp x puck population is early flower. I think the friesland could add some much needed disease resistance, and honestly a better bract/leaf ratio. Also thinking about other pollen donors like: Luana - hawaiian, NL1, NL1 x puck, and ‘88g13xhp. Already pollinating to continue the line.
Hit the early birds, I think I referenced them as early girl earlier, with some NL1, friesland, and vashion kush essentially for a f2 as it is just an early male pulled from that line. Didn’t get any males all female so had to make do with what I got. Really loving this line so far! Early with high leaf mold resistance.
G13/NL2 where hit to continue the line as the male was one of my favorites. No fuss, great structure, high septoria resistance, and huge pollen dumper!
Also used g13/nl2 male on the 88 g13/hp clones from my indoor run in winter.
Ike’s Humboldt Afghani #4 is looking very promising with early flowering that has purple bracts with big white pistils. Trying to hold the line selecting for early flowering.
More going on to report back on!!! Have a good evening!
I took out the pnwhp x puck pollen and pollinated each PNWHP x puck plant with the 4 different males taking them to f2, but with the ability to select because i separated each branch by male pollen donor. Also hit some freezeland, early girl, black domina, and overkill with it!
Lots of seeds come end-of-season! There’s going to be some winners in those. I would think the (PNWHP x Puck) x M33 would be tough as nails plants with that heritage.
Awesome! We don’t have as many of those sort of things down here.
Have a great weekend!
Yeah hoping to have plenty of seeds for myself and to share!
Finally got the ladder out and harvested more mushrooms!!!
Sorry for the slow response. The rainbird is an early season outdoor that aficionado did. I was only able to get 5-7 and out of them 1 female and 2 males. I have seeds from the female, but I’m not 100 percent sure it’s a pure f2 mix. I had some ag nl5 hanging around the house at the same time.
I also dusted a redline haze with the boys.
I’ll probably be cutting her down soon, but she’s a resistant girl for sure. I’ll see if my clones are successful hopefully soon.
How is the hp13 going?
The hp13 bx is still lanky as hell and a stretch monster that is just starting to flower. Looking like a mid - late october finish. Hopefully the weather turns hot and dry for her!
Sorry I’ve been out of commission for a week but I’m all caught up although out of likes! Awesome!! Absolutely awesome that you pollinated all of those gems, going to be some epic pedigree in all those strains all around. Count me in when complete as a definitely interested in a trade party. Nice
Thanks @TopShelfTrees1 ! Can’t wait to get these out to the community!
Used some HP13 bx pollen onto some HP13 females to continue the line @Emeraldgreen !
Also used it on the garlic dog’s!
Smoke report on Iranian Early Flower
Just got dry enough to sample some nugs from the top cola. Has a hashy sweet sour taste, somewhat reminiscent of NL1. Pretty smooth smoke for no jar time. Narcotic chill high that has my body relaxed with enhanced sound perception. Very enjoyable! Thought you would enjoy @Herrsquidward
Thanks. Glad it worked out for you.
I pollinated the iranian with NL, friesland, and back onto itself to continue the line. Look like the nl might not be so fruitful as the pollen was from last year. Also, I have some iranian pollen to use on some females later!
The iranian smoke inspired me to go out and spread some deep chunk pollen!!! Hope it adds potency and resin to some lines!!
Excellent! I hope all your projects are successful and keep inspiring you!
