Small update today. Looking at my calendar, I’ve decided to flip to flower on Thursday (day 42). In preparation for this, I’ve added another light to the tent (a Budget LED 250W) since the Mars Hydro FC-E3000 is not designed to handle a 4x4 in flower. Additionally, this allows me to move the plants further apart to increase airflow around them.
Here they are on day 41. The timer schedule was changed today so that tomorrow will be the first 12/12 day. I’m about to perform a pre-flower stage defol and tie-down on them, but wanted to post a pre-defol picture.
Day 46, and in the middle of their first week of flower. Everything is going well, though I did have a little browning of leaf edges with the Gorilla Glue. Thinking maybe light burn (see pic below).
Good to know. I was assuming light burn as it was high up on the plant and I figured an early deficiency would show up on older foliage. Regardless, at their watering this morning, I added a 1/4 tsp of Bud Explosion in addition to the 1 tsp of Megacrop.
I hear ya. Those are big plants with alot of foliage, I won’t be suprised if they need full sized doses of nutes here in the next month as the soil gets depleted.
Day 49, a watering day for the girls, and officially the beginning of their second week of flower. All are doing well. Slightly increased their bites to 1 1/4 tsp. of megacrop, 1/4 tsp. of Sea-K, and 1/4 tsp. of bloom boost.
Question for you all. I’m only at the end of the second week of flower, but I’ve been dealing with some bad fungus gnats. Nothing that is impacting the plants, mainly just annoying. I’m watering tomorrow, so I have some crushed up mosquito dunks soaking overnight in preparation, and multiple sticky traps in the tent.
My question is how worried should I be about fungus gnats getting stuck on the soon-to-be natural sticky traps (i.e., my precious buds)?
Edit: just ordered some beneficial nematodes that will arrive tomorrow. Between those, the sticky traps, and the dunks, I hope I can eradicate these pests before the plants get too resinous.
Watering the girls today. Officially day 57 of the overall grow and day 16 of flower. Everything is going well with the exception of the fungus gnat issue.
Another question, this one about the Cap Junky. (@LoveDaAutos, maybe you know?)
The other three have nice sets of flowers forming. The Cap Junky, not so much. I don’t see any nanners, but also not seeing much in the way of flowers forming. Any thoughts? Am I just worrying too much and should just let it keep doing its thing?
Day 64 overall, and day 23 of flower. Since we just entered the fourth week of flower, I’ve bumped up the Bud Explosion and will keep it at this higher level until the end of week 6, then I’ll start tapering it down.
In general, the plants are doing well, and assuming all goes well until the chop, I should have an abundant harvest.
Day 68 overall and day 27 of flowering. Nutes have been steadily increased for all four plants, and all of them are doing well. The nematodes, mosquito dunks, and yellow sticky traps have been successful in controlling the fungus gnats. Knock on wood that the grow keeps going well, as this should be a bumper crop!
Clockwise from back left we have: Cap Junky, Frankenstein, Gorilla Glue, Purple Kush
Day 76 overall and day 35 of flower. Coming to the end of week 5 for flowering. All the plants are looking good with only a few spots of minor discoloration. Most of that seems to be nutrient deficiencies. Despite the nutes I’m giving them, these are hungry, big plants.
