This got me thinking…how “full of bicarbonates” is too full? My tap water comes out around 7.9-8.1 and the published city water report says average bicarbonates of 105mg/L.

My city water report says 188 PPM as CaCO3. It also says my pH is 7.9 and my TDS is 274 PPM. I also have 2.2 PPB of Uranium. :desert::radioactive:

And you’re not using city water for growing? You could be growing Hulk weed. Smoke it and turn into a big green dude with anger issues and a small vocabulary.

This landed in my mailbox today! Thanks @ReikoX I’ll be popping a couple of these in a month or two… Definitely looking forward to trying another of your Auto strains :peace_symbol:

Hard water. It’s similar to mine. 120 ppm calcium. PH out of the hose is 6.7 with TDS at 220PPM. It kinda begs the question of why in the actual frakk do I get calcium deficiencies.

Because the calcium is not available in carbonate form. It requires some form of acid to make it plant available.

In an attempt to lower the soil pH, I top dressed each bed with a little over a gallon of hydrated sphagnum peat moss. I then watered that in with about 4 gallons of RO water. Here they are at day 40F. Zak Haze on the right, Green Crack on the left.

The Grass Fire OG are off to a slow start. I oversaturated the cups when I transplanted them and they are taking their time drying out.

And here is the JLo F3 getting her fade on at day 50 since germination. Not bad for a plant that I practically ignored in less than a gallon of soil to start.

Man, those Zack Haze colas are pretty fat for only being at day 40. How long does she usually take?

Ive run Zak Haze anywhere from 8-10 weeks. I prefer it around 10 weeks. There should be time to bulk up some more. Last time I harvested about a pound dry weight, two pounds would get me in the 1 GPW range.

I owe it all to that soil test. I would have never thought to pump the micros and drop the pH like I have. I still think I’m fighting HpLVd too.

That’s a shame that you think the virus is still kicking around. I have had my fingers crossed for you that whatever modifications you made to your feeding based on the soil test results would clear things up 100%!

I will be traveling again this F.S.F. Same as last week. Could be an advantage, or a handicap…

But I WILL eventually get my dirty dibbers on some of those JLO F3’s!!! Speak it into being!!!

I hope to one day have a garden that is just a shadow, cast by a black sun, of your amazing setup!!! Keep leading the way!

Yeah, well, that’s what I was thinking. Flower day 40, they still haven’t even started the late-flower swell yet. Nice.

Are you sure you were trying to raise the soil pH when adding sphagnum peat moss? I could swear your soil report said the soil pH was a little on the high side…also sphagnum peat moss usually has a pH closer to 4, so that would be the wrong direction if you want to raise the pH, no?

Nice catch… I want to lower it. Just a typo. Fixed.
