So the four runs with the bubble hash were all from the same batch of dried flower? Mix first run, pull out each bag, collect hash, put all bags back together and stir the work bag again, repeat 3 more times?

I’m new to hash and have only seen one run being done from others but wow there’s still a lot of hash to be collected!

I’m using the Bubble Bags from Bubbleman.

Sure enough, except the washer drains and leaves the buds and ice in the washer. So I drain the water through the bags, then add more water to the washer and let it soak while I pull the bags. Then run it again 2-3 more times depending on quality and yield.

She’s a beaut! Nice and creamy, I can’t wait to see what it looks like dried out.

Thanks @JoeCrowe, means a lot coming from an award wining hashishin like you.

The 1/2 dry worked out pretty well. I would have to do a side by side to see if there is a noteable change in terpenes, but this hash smelled fantastic.

It should be dried and pressed in another week or so. In the meantime, I pressed some of the flower.

Wow 6 cups of BioChar eh!? The ladies love it apparently. I was thinking about half that but I have no experience with it yet. Thanks for the info, I think I will re evaluate a few things.:green_heart:

That’s the recipe I used, but honestly I think it is too much. If I had to do it again, I would do 1/2 or even just omit it.

I see. I don’t want to go overboard on testing so I’m trying to go about it logically. Maybe just do a few and then amend based off the results. 🤷 Thanks for the heads up!

So what I posted is basically a Coots mix with added malted barley and biochar. I used 1 cup of glacial and 1 cup of basalt mainly because I had them. You could use 2 cups of either one instead.

I ended up going with the brix blend basalt and I was kind of weary to throw in azomite myself. I was a little worried too much rock dust would cause me issues. The char is completely new to me so Im not bias one way or another. I do like the malted barley idea.

Me too, I like both that it is a seed meal and good for aminos, but it is also malted and high in enzymes. I would definitely keep it in the mix.

It may be my issue with germinating seeds straight in this mix though. I get a lot of damping off with this mix.

Always something to learn! Would rock dust be one of the names given to basalt? Having a hard time finding it round where I live!! Nice hash pics!

Basalt is a specific type of rock dust. Any kind of rock dust will serve the purpose.

So I’m covered!! Yeah, I knew it comes from volcanic lava, thus not found “everywhere!” Thanks!!!

After a week in the beer froster, the hash is dry. I yielded 33.82 grams hash from 211 grams of 1/2 dry buds for a 16.03% return.

This particular press was about 8.5g of 45u-159u “freeze dried” hash (1st through 4rd pulls), double bagged first in a rosinevolution 25u, then a 160u bag. Pressed at 78°C on my DIY press for about 3 minutes between parchment by blacklabelpaperco.

I pressed three more packs, then collected all the rosin together and homogenized it. I ended up with a total of 21.81 grams rosin for a 64.49% return.

Finally, I split it up into six 3.5 gram containers and put them in the hash fridge. It was getting empty.
