That’s not what my eyeballs have seen in countless posts. I will let you know. When I set it up. I will do a run of same strain clone twice without and with. Everything else the same.
Bluefish LED controller. It was originally designed for aquarium lighting.
Good to know thanks.
I’ve read that myself as well as seeing a benefit to running A during veg but for the sake of science I would also like to try it out. though the best way would be to run it like @ColeLennon said with clones and a run with the UV and one without to compare. I’m running all seeds currently so it’d be hard to say.
@ColeLennon @Rhai88 Yeah I’m not saying it’s not worth testing out, just that the most recent research I read from 2022 on the subject said specifically UVA doesn’t make much difference, especially as related to cannabinoid production. Any benefit they’ve seen has come from UVB.
Here’s a link to the study I’m referring to.
FWIW, you may notice the same thing I did that they did see more trichomes on leaves but not on the flowers. They didn’t measure the difference on trim because they say it’s generally considered throwaway material.
Also, Dr. Bruce Bugbee indicates the same in a recent interview with Sean from Migro, that they haven’t been able to measure any benefit to cannabinoid production from UVA in any of their tests. He goes on to say “that doesn’t mean it’s not happening, we just haven’t been able to measure it”.
There are more segments to that interview on Migro’s youtube channel & his Instagram, but this is the one pertinent to UV.
All valid points, but cannabinoid potency isn’t the whole story. There are 100s of other secondary metabolites that the plant produces that modulate the high.
With all due respect, I often question if Dr. Bugsby even smokes his product.
I’m also interested in the effect on trichome morphology. Does it increase the number of capitate stalked trichomes? This would be a boon to hash makers. It would also explain why it may look more frosty, yet not test higher.
Dominion Diesel Day 52F. Took a flash shot for a change.
Trichomes look about 40% clear, 60% cloudy. They also have a lot of capitate stalked trichomes. Should be some good hash producers.
Looking very nice indeed. I have a long love for the diesels and the Dominion looks great.
Love your detailed threads!

is the dominion diesels a cross of dominion skunk and sour diesel ? they look terrific
What do u use for a scope? That image is super clear
I love the flash on shots.
Yeah, it’s ECSD x Dominion Skunk.
Just a cheap USB scope from Amazon. I clipped the top off several buds and put them on white paper to get the images.
Shows how frosty they really are.
nice cross thanks for confirmation!
GLo (left) solid dark chocolate flavor, freshly pinched out of the jar chocolate coffee aroma, excellent smoke. JLo (right) smooth smoke that lingers with flavor of coffee with wood undertones , freshly pinched held to the nose strong wildflower with honey sweetness aroma. Ground them both together at 50/50 volume and rolled one for to smoke with some friends. The rating all thumbs up from everyone for flavor and smoothness, Our garden club thanks you as do I for Fantastic seeds. I’ll be doing a JLo f3 auto seed run on my next grow with my last 4 seeds.
I will also be growing some seeds that arrived today.
The garden club is almost as excited as me to see the collaboration with afterthought.
Have a great weekend and a fantastic Saturday night.
@Heliosphear bro haha. Dam you. Sign me up please. I’m a Chocoholic…
The Zak Haze S1 plants in the QT tent are starting to get stinky. I normally only flower males in there for a few weeks, so I’ve never installed a carbon filter. This 120 micron sieve just happens to fit perfectly over the exhaust hole. I filled it with activated carbon and it’s at least 90% better.
My solo cup plants been getting smelly this week too.
How’s the Dominion Diesel looking? Can you help me with some close up pics before you chop? My 4x4 tent plants are only going on week 3 and I needs me some bud porn
Bugbee says this is a myth which has no support in cannabis research. Only works on long-day flowering plants. Also Bugbee says cannabis does not benefit from light ramping.
Faster veg, branches spreading laterally, minor stem & leaf petiole elongation, controlled with blue extant in LEDs.
Only in the absence of enough blue. 1:2 ratio of blue:FR is plenty.
Bugbee says UVA and UVB show 0 benefit to cannabinoid or secondary metabs in labs.
Transfer of trichs from flower (good) to leaves (bad) = no increase in cannabinoids. Do not want longer trichs, more wax production. Yuck.
I’m glad I’ve seen this one pop up. I’ll be around.
