ReikoX's Workshop Rebuild 2020

I got my new multi-meter and the LDD drivers drivers today. First thing I did was clip off the old driver and clean up the burn marks. I plugged it in and the other driver was working fine.

Unfortunately I broke off the pad on the VIN - pin. I didn’t notice until I put the first driver on, so I clipped it off and scraped off the leads so I could solder a bridge to the pin. Glad I bought two now.

The second time it worked fine. I then figured out I indeed swapped the - and + channels on the PWM. I’m not exactly sure how it was working before.

Are they deep red or far red diodes?

What is the benifit of having the leds with 2 apart and 2 together. As opposed to evenly spaced across the light.

I think there may also be some infra red ones there that are not visible to the eye. I reckon there is about 9 deep reds roughly evenly spaced, 3 far reds roughly evenly spaced, and probably some infra reds too. If so, that would be cool. I am looking for something like that. Gonna go check out rapids site

Bro very interesting thread
? How did you make those paper pots
I also am tired of spending $ on rapid rooters

Good recovery after loosing the -Vin pad!!
That is a ‘fiddly bit’ of work to pull off… Good on ya! :+1: :sunglasses:
Yes, always buy extra… that has saved my ass more times than I can count.

Cheers

On my PC now I can see the little ones that I couldn’t on my cell

They are both far red and infrared. They are Emerson boards, so the ratio of far red to infrared is important. Basically Emerson did an experiment where he used far red to increase photosynthesis, then did the same with infrared. In the end, he found that a mix of both produced more photosynthesis than the sum of both individually. Thats the Emerson Effect and why there are more far red (bright LEDs) than infrared.

The small dimmer ones are infrared, but still slightly visible to the naked eye. With a cell phone camera, they show up quite well because most CMOS cameras lack an IR filter.

I got this pot maker from Amazon.

I was sweating it for a minute, I didn’t even notice the pad was off. Used the leg of a resistor to bridge the gap.

Nice! Glad you got it fixed! Knew you could do it

Also find it hilarious we’re clearly a bunch of IT people around here :joy:

Nah, I’m a programmer. When my computer breaks, I call IT too. At work they freak out if they see me with a screw driver.

Still doing a bit of bench testing of my lights. I did some measurements to get the light layout. Then I installed a couple of wood strips to the ceiling. The strips are nailed to the studs in the ceiling so I can put a hanger at any location I need. I will paint them and begin installing some hooks next.

I also got all my cameras installed and working. I now have eyes on the veg room (upper left), lung room (upper right), flower room (lower left), and quarantine tent (lower right). Please excuse my mess, construction is still in progress.

Neat. :+1: It’s coming together. Do they have night vision?

Yes, night vision, a microphone, and speaker. I’ve had them for a couple of years now. I don’t think they make them like this anymore.

Sweet! Kinda sounds like Wyze cams. The night vision IR blasters don’t interrupt the flower cycle?

I turn them off on the flower room just in case.

Is this for sweet talking your babies, or do you like to bring them up with some good classical music?

Your eyes must be worse than mine lol, I needed an eye exam a year ago, was just about to book one when covid struck, now they are so backed up with bookings, it will probably be another year before I can get one  I use a 32 inch high def tv for a monitor so I see things relatively clearly on that.
