I know now white pots + organic nutes with a lot of kelp is going to grow more algae than anything else

I’m trying again with hand watering. managed to get some clones from the plants before they died,

The 3 big pots are clones from the 7East’s Kraken and the seedlings are Alien Dragon and an unknown chili  Under a Spiderfarmer SF 2000
Using Professors organic nutes

I’ll take any advice hopefully this time someone can spot my stupid mistakes before I kill again

Cool, I’ve been eyeing the Kraken. The best advice I can offer of you’re concerned about rot is Hydrogaurd or its much cheaper alternative from Southern Ag (same active beneficial). It cures and prevents rot like nothing else.

why did you choose to put that hydrotone in those fabric bags ?

There’s a recipe for 30% hydrogen peroxide and water on here somewhere. That saved my last rdwc run from a TERRIBLE case of root rot. Best advice I can give for not getting root rot in hydro is only do hydro in the winter dirt in the summer. Wish someone woulda hipped me to that gem

Sorry to hear about your last grow. That’s great you got clones! Best of luck this go round! I have no experience in dwc but I’ll follow along.

I’ve heard some of the salty people run 100% sterile with high chrlorine levels :biohazard: not sure how their bud turns out

Based on the immature, flash dried bits of the plant in that first picture, Kraken is an amazing smoke and I can’t wait to try when it’s finished properly.

I think I’ll leave DWC alone until I’ve got a lot more experience.

I did have a plan to get some Pro-Pots and set up a flood-drain system, but then life got in the way and drained my bank account, so it’s clay balls in fabric pots because it was that or nothing

Just flipped to flower today. Lost one of seedlings and moved the chilli plant outside

And here’s the clones now

Bit colder here overnight, so they’re getting a lovely colour, although there has been some overwatering and overfeeding.

The 2 alien dragons turned out to be male and female, so I decided to do some pollen chucking, any seeds I get are seeds that don’t have to get past Oz customs

I’m pretty sure it’s been pollinated, so I’m thinking I’ll get rid of the male, try and get as much pollen as possible off and move it back into the main room.

There is a really strong mint smell when rubbing the stem of the male I’m really looking forward to popping some more seeds of this one.

The colour is now lovely, but the smell is amazing heavy hash/incense smell from the kraken and the alien dragon has a sour apple, I’ll be lucky to get an ounce and 2 seeds once it’s finished, but I know what I did wrong this time and looking forward to getting a taste of the finished product. Probably still at least 2 weeks from harvest all trichomes still clear when I checked

My crappy phone camera is not doing the full colour of these justice, lots of red and purple. I’ve been progressively harvesting and ‘testing’ with a vape. Buds are fat and heavy.
It’s fantastic stuff even without a proper cure. I’ve not smelt anything like before, grape, citrus peel, with some truffle/mushroom funk.
It’s a great high.,very relaxing, but not couchlock. Nice mix of head and body. Hopefully I can keep my hands off long enough for it to cure properly, but it’s so much better even now with only a week of curing than anything I could buy.
