Retro Gaming for the olds

Oh man, Sega CD. So many hours wasted playing Sewer Sharks. Good times.

My friend had that one. FMV games were wild.

Does anyone here remember Sega Channel?

I had it it, it was later on in the lifetime of the Genesis. You paid your cable provider for a special cartridge that plugged into the coax, and it would get like 30 Genesis games, 15 of which would change every couple of weeks. I always thought it was pretty cool, but just a year or so later I was modding PS1s to load copied discs for all my friends. No need to pay the cable company, just rent the game once from Blockbuster.

My spoiled kid cousin was the only one I ever knew who had it in real life. Fucking only childitis.

Japan had cool stuff like that with broadcast games like versions of zelda that could only be accessed during specific times of the day. We got many less cool stuff like that here but sega channel was one of em.

You ever find games and cool stuff in dreamcasts you get to refurb? I find the ocassional game but recently noticed someone missed a broadband adapter instead of the modem on one. I didnt notice until I was changing cases and noticed it didnt fit and said LAN instead of Line. That was an instant score.

I was in my mid 20s by then and paying for it myself lol.

Screws I took out of a sega saturn controller I am refurbishing. This is AFTER cleaning em up a bit to see if they were salvagable. What do they do to their controllers?

Pac Man was my first game ever. I probably do need a colonoscopy to be fair.

Either 1 or 2 on a GBA emu, looks like… not entirely sure on which, I’ve never actually played 2 and last time I played 1 it wasn’t on GBA or considered retro. :stuck_out_tongue:

Gba version of 2. Kind of emulation, kind of not. It is NOT software emulation.

Yeah, wasn’t intending to imply that it was pirated… just hardware that emulates the cartridge reader, right?

Oh, wasnt worried about the pirated part. Just that its hardware emulation with fpga versus software for an exact replication of original hardware, bugs, glitches, limitations and all. Versus a cheap o’ $30 emulation system on a chip gameboy knock off.

Also cartidge slot on back to play carts.

Besides Twister, not one of these devices, or anything remotely close has been in my house. My older sister had jacks, my brother had marbles. Got nothing against them. Grew up in San Diego and by 7 was shredding in those canyons every chance I could. Then at 12 I got a surfboard. That was heaven… By then the canyons were a great place to get high. Our parents never came down there. Ever. Never once saw PD of any type. Our problem was older guys bullying us. Creeks, etc were the boundaries. Defended fiercely from other bands of marauding dirty cretins.
