Ris-ski Business - an ongoing grow log

Thank you, couldn’t have stated it better. I am very customer oriented and I want to be as transparent as possible. I want every review, good or bad, they all contribute to the overall picture of how im doing and what I might need to change. So far the only constant in this industry is uncertainty.

I appreciate you for this, It truly is an every bit counts type thing. Shoot me a dm, Id like to send you a little thank you gift.

Someone in an autopot growers facebook group asked how to top feed with the system. I figured maybe ill post here as well for personal documentation.

So, here what i do currently,

I will turn off the line from the rez, then wait a day

I do a top feed until little bit of run off while on a 5 gallon home depot bucket. Trays wont overfill now, you have much less residual fertilizers in the tray. as an added benefit theres no need to clean the lines as often, since only ph’ed water is being used in the rez.

once Im letting my plants drain, I will dump the water left in the trays, let the lines drain and dump the trays again.

Once trays are empty i can put the plants back into the autopot system. give it another day or so, and then open the tap to the rez again.

I try and clean the rez and flush the lines every 3 weeks, when filling the rez, I only use fresh water, ph’ed down to ~5.5 knowing that it will rize over time. so it lengthens the time between having to ph the water again.

Thats it, its simple and it works for me.

Thanks for reading.

Ok, need some help. Is twisting and contorting, becoming brittle, starting to change color along the vein of the leaf to a purple or black color. This is only happening on one of three plants all attached to the same reservoir.

Yikes :grimacing: bro, out of my league. :face_with_monocle: might want to try @FirstCavApache64 or @JohnnyPotseed! :facepunch::wink::+1::sunglasses::peace_symbol:

It’s weird. I’m wondering if it just too fuckin cold. Tent in the garage and I don’t have anything under the tent so it’s directly on the cold concrete.

It looks like a combination of problems. That can compound and confuse real issues. Hell a couple of the problems look like a virus, that can even be carried in by insects, like leafhoppers.

Can you raise them up off the cold floor? Even putting a couple of 2X4s under each pot so it’s not right on the concrete might help.

Thanks for jumping in, @JohnnyPotseed. I obviously need the help lol.

I inspected them best i could and did not see any pests. Not that that means they are completely free of them but more just that I can’t see them.

I agree, 100% with the compounding of issues. I have tested Ph, in soil, in water, in feedings All registering as within range. The only environmental issue i can think of is how cold it is. Resivor water is super cold as well, I don’t know what effect that might have.

@CanuckistanPete - Im going to have to get them off the ground somehow. Could it really be related to temp though?

Too much cold can be detrimental, but the symptoms showing look like a combination of nutrient problems, more than anything else. Obscure stuff like Boron, phosphorous, etc

I will defer to JPS here…he’s got WAAAAAAAAAYYYYY more experience with indoor growing than I.

I’ve had symptoms like that when I have plants too cold in veg. The low vpd and temps can cause certain nutrients to lock out. I bet getting temps up to the mid 70s and getting them off the floor will go a long way. Also need to feed much less when they’re cold. Hope this helps

Oh shit… It might all make sense. The space heater that I had on in the garage was shut off about 5 days ago. Thats when it took a turn for the worse.

I originally thought it was a PH issue, then phosphors def, I started to think ph was causing a lock out of some kind but ph was fine.

Let me ask this question to you fellas, Is it worth it to keep at them or should i just scrap it and move on. It might be easier to just kill it with fire.

Looks like they can still bounce back from this.

Definitely salvageable.

Very salvageable I’d think, they showed stress but warming up should get them growing good. Will probably lose some of those twisted leaves once starts growing healthy again.
