This is great news for everyone, it looks like we can possibly have a good qty. of seeds for an open pollination run to save this specific Big Bud heritage.
Are the people who scored still willing to give up half their pack to an experienced grower that has the room for an open pollination in the near future?

Problem with the Salmon Creek Big Bud is whatever you cross it with will create a lower potency. It was never very good. Humboldt and Mendo put out so much other good stuff, I didnā€™t see much of it after medical because of the quality of other things that were available. Iā€™m sure it would improve yield though but I would choose another more potent strain to increase yield like TK or SD or even Glue or Haze. Peace Sdd420

No offense to anyone

Potency may not be the only factor to consider. The structure of the plant or itā€™s pest resistance might make it worth breeding with even if it knock potency a bit.

Plants than push out crazy yields generally arenā€™t my favorite in terms of flavor but they do have a specific growth structure that doesnā€™t require as much support or trellising.

Gorilla glue comes to mind. That original dispensary cut wasnā€™t that great but it had a really dependable structure and pest resistance that it was really popular. Itā€™s strength wasnā€™t why it was popular

Just speaking with a friend. She was telling me that she is getting more and more requests for lower thc weed. Her clients especially older new clients donā€™t want 5000% thc mega super blast

Iā€™m pretty good at not falling into a FOMO driven seed purchase, as I had done a few times in the past.
But Iā€™ve had great results this year, buying lower priced beans, that gave me copious amounts of delicious buds, and very stinky buds, for cheap money, $35.00 - $50.00 price range, for 10 seeds.
The Mexican Red Hair Skunks, is one Iā€™m just now starting to smoking on, they have been a tremendous purchase, for the price of the beans.
They offer a great licorice/anise flavor, with a hint of incense, in there.
I mean (drippy) for $40.00 why not run an item, then see if the advertisement photos, deliver it, or were they just dolled up (LED head lamped) glamor shots?
But for us, I grow for buds, if not up to snuff, then I either encapsulate them up, or make butter from them, so I never loose reallyā€¦unless I over pay.
Best of luck to all involved.
