I almost grabbed a pack of that Drippy too. Pics looked great.
This is great news for everyone, it looks like we can possibly have a good qty. of seeds for an open pollination run to save this specific Big Bud heritage.
Are the people who scored still willing to give up half their pack to an experienced grower that has the room for an open pollination in the near future?
Problem with the Salmon Creek Big Bud is whatever you cross it with will create a lower potency. It was never very good. Humboldt and Mendo put out so much other good stuff, I didnāt see much of it after medical because of the quality of other things that were available. Iām sure it would improve yield though but I would choose another more potent strain to increase yield like TK or SD or even Glue or Haze. Peace Sdd420
No offense to anyone
Potency may not be the only factor to consider. The structure of the plant or itās pest resistance might make it worth breeding with even if it knock potency a bit.
Plants than push out crazy yields generally arenāt my favorite in terms of flavor but they do have a specific growth structure that doesnāt require as much support or trellising.
Gorilla glue comes to mind. That original dispensary cut wasnāt that great but it had a really dependable structure and pest resistance that it was really popular. Itās strength wasnāt why it was popular
This was my goal and why I want to do the reproduction for everyone.
SRBB x First Class Funk =
First Class Funky Salmon River Big Bug = Yes please!
Just speaking with a friend. She was telling me that she is getting more and more requests for lower thc weed. Her clients especially older new clients donāt want 5000% thc mega super blast
Iām pretty good at not falling into a FOMO driven seed purchase, as I had done a few times in the past.
But Iāve had great results this year, buying lower priced beans, that gave me copious amounts of delicious buds, and very stinky buds, for cheap money, $35.00 - $50.00 price range, for 10 seeds.
The Mexican Red Hair Skunks, is one Iām just now starting to smoking on, they have been a tremendous purchase, for the price of the beans.
They offer a great licorice/anise flavor, with a hint of incense, in there.
I mean (drippy) for $40.00 why not run an item, then see if the advertisement photos, deliver it, or were they just dolled up (LED head lamped) glamor shots?
But for us, I grow for buds, if not up to snuff, then I either encapsulate them up, or make butter from them, so I never loose reallyā¦unless I over pay.
Best of luck to all involved.
Didnāt want to say anything until I had it hand, but I snagged one of Copaās SCBB packs as well. Seems like there are already a few repro projects in the works.
Awesome @yardgrazer. I was fortunate to get one too. I got #50.
Completely forgot about them being numbered, in at 83.
@Hemlock has confirmed that pack #49 is on itās way to the Great White North for itās reproduction run and I already got a notification in my Canada Post app!
Shitās getting real! Thanks for the honour of running these for all of use folks!
After going on their own lil adventure thanks to the USPS mine arrived today. The way they went to another state and tracking went cold for awhile thought i had lost them yesterday morning. Happy they made it!
Yeah! Congrats bud and happy growing!
Mine landed. Iāll repro these next year. No selections, just open pollenate the lot. Iād like to get some other retro stuff in the mix to run up some crosses. Purple Urkle s2 x SCBB might be a worthy GDP remake with both parents having been worked a tad more than the original PU X BB cross if thatās even what it really was.
any one tried popping any seeds yet, interested in know how the germ rates are with these.
just asking ā¦
I gave the seeds a nice visual inspection. For what itās worth, they look great. Uniform, mature, and well-sized.
Headie Gardens Copa drop is live now everyone!
