Scarlet Grapes in buckets 🍇

Yep that what the 3” in the troughs do. Now my 6” net pot lids for the bubble buckets are way easier and don’t break like the 3’s going on 10 grows on same net pot lids. Couple cracks here and there. I should try printing some myself. Could customize the sizes to fit better … excellent idea my friend :v:

Took the 3 scarlet grapes down today around day 74. They grew themselves really, I gave them some fish emulsion a couple of times and lightly top dressed some compost in first week or so of flower. Lovely frosting and I’m getting a fermented dank sweet grape/cherry smell off them. Thanks @blowdout2269 for letting me try these out and @AppalachianBiscuits for the great thread :+1::pray::green_heart:

The taller one got close to 3 foot and the others a bit over 2 foot

So weird.
I’d expect to see signs of flowering by now.

I believe the cool nights have helped with those 3. Nights have been in the 40-50 f.

Dried for 8 days cured for 8 so far. Really nice smoke, I’ve been dipping in since 3rd day of cure of course lol. Smooth grape inhale and a lovely dark cherry with slight gas on the exhale. 5 min then a nice and stoney creep, definitely afternoon/evening smoke for me

@blowdout2269 I agree about the cooler temps. Mine grew a good while before flowering started, and my night time temps were 60’s mostly.

My Scarlet Grapes is starting to flower now. They are about 46 days old.

Even my scarlet grapes F2 started flowering at 45 days and I harvested mine a bit early at 84 days and I feel she takes longer to start flowering and to complete. Next time I will let her go for 95 - 100 days :slightly_smiling_face::v:

are broken net pots and gnarly roots common problems with the dwc?
i was always thinking the roots would be supple and fragile.

I’m running a bubbleponics in a 3 gallon using foam collars to keep them snug and the main feeding root on 1 of cuts thats in there is half the size of my pinky finger but below that you have a mass of finer roots entangled

Yes , smaller pots break easier than the larger net pots . The main roots can get quite large and get stuck in the pots or crack them. Especially it you let the plants get bigger :v:

Quite the opposite. They’re super fibrous and almost woody closer to the stalks. I use a saw to cut the roots off the cup just to salvage the lids of my buckets at least.
They do get very tender towards the ends of the root systems though. That being said you have to be super careful if you have to do a full water change midway in flower. You can damage them with the weight of themselves, and that will rot

These were about a month or so old. The heavy green roots are what really take hold. They ended up doubling in diameter.

Yes. Roots mess up all kinds of hydro systems all the time. DWC has less parts and pieces for roots to break. @BIGJ had some plants in a section of gutter. :exploding_head: Woo we. Roots everywhere.

I use DWC specifically because I hate cleaning roots out of pumps.

They are very supple and fragile at the ends, but THICCC the closer to the stem you go.
