Sebring's 79MauwiWowieCherryBomb pheno f4

Wow, thanks for sharing. That definitely sucks, hoping that growing outdoors may help with that but maybe I am just grasping at straws there? Definitely don’t want to seed up my other outdoor plants.

Watching with interest my friend.
I’ve got a Maui Cherry Bomb outside but not from Sebrings that I started back in Feb.

Good luck with yours.

Now that’s a head start and looking great! Is that from Swami?

Yes. I believe it was originally from him.
A redo from a breeder in Cali is where I got it.
This pheno has the red pistils.
Very pretty in full flower.
And thank you very much.

Here’s an early veg shot.
Right front and center one.

Pic is from mid April.

Just around two months since sprout, everything is going well, plant is looking great so far, some pink in the pre flower pistils, excited to see if that carries over once the flowers start popping.

EDIT: After seeing the pic after posting, had to go run and get a height on the plant since you can’t tell in the picture. It’s just over 4 feet tall from the soil line.

Keep a close eye on them mine didn’t like stress and ended up culling them.

When I ran 6 out of the pack I got, 2 we’re male and 3 hermied early in flower and I culled them. The one that stayed fem produced monster arm length colas.

How did you enjoy that single plant @joecool Was it worth the hassle ?

Nice! I’m hoping that the plant does better outdoors and maybe won’t have the same herm issue that people have had growing indoors. But I think hope is all I have right now  Thanks for sharing the flower pic as that is one solid cola.

I really enjoyed it. Took me back to when I first started smoking, didn’t exactly have the cherry taste per se but cherry was definitely a note just an underlying one. The main taste was pure sweet funk is the best I can explain it.
For myself now it was a pure daytime smoke. Very uplifting high.
I didn’t consider it a hastle to grow just took longer than the others I had going.
Will I chuck what I’ve got left? For sure when I’m ready for a another trip down memory lane.

Little update, over 8 weeks from seed and is just under 6 feet from the soil line. Not much for aroma just yet but plenty of preflower pistils and is just starting to flower within the last week give or take.

Likely has finished the stretch, no intersex issues as of yet and many of the flowers are sporting pink pistils.

Looks like you got a good one there , hope you took clones!

Haha, I don’t mess with clones due to space and need for variety, I’m just a seed popper through and through. I don’t ever think about what I may miss out on, I just look forward to what can be in that next seed  However, I did only pop two of these beans, and this is the lone female, so I feel fairly confident there is more good ones in the puck.

Great thread.

Maui Wowie was bred from a shipment of weed (likely Oaxacan, but possibly a medley) brought back from St Thomas (Michocan) Mexico to the Islands. Bred with Kandahar Afghan that they brought back from their hash lab in Afghanistan. This was 1970, so breeding began - likely - in '71

Cherry Bomb is Maui Wowie that was brought back to Laguna Beach California and bred in California - so, same genetocs, different outcome.

Thought these got cross pollinated with the primate og too, so not all of them are mauwiwowie…

Chugging along, lost the lowest front facing branch a couple weeks ago as it had just snapped off, pink pistils still mixed in but becoming less prevalent, general sweet aroma.
