Seed Banks - Who can we trust?

You don’t need much for a mother plant. Just needs a light over its head basically. No tent or anything special. I started with a cardboard box and an old fluorescent. I had the perfect cutting that would go from a rooted cut to full bloom in 60 days and grow 3 feet under 12/12. That’s something you could do to cut out a big veg room

Throwing this out there… Well Grown seeds took excellent care of my woman!

A while back she snagged me two packs of TKbx1’s from MMS for Christmas on Well grown’s site. Unfortunately the site crashed with the flood of orders that came in and they were out of stock before our order was actually processed.

We had no clue until we got a package with 3 packs from MMS(the wrong ones). She decided to email stating we didn’t get the right packs and he told us they were basically sending them out as an apology for their error on their website. Also ended up giving us a more than fair chunk of store credit to shop on the site for additional packs we may want.

Even though we did have some additional confusion when placing our store credit orders… I will more than certainly be going back for beans from Alex. Good dude and is a man of his word.

Hey curious question here, What are the odds of being able to get an ID on an unknown strain here? If I grow out a seed that I dont know what it is, what are the chances someone can tell me with reasonable certanity what the strain is?

It depends I’d assume.

Just wondering, I mean I know where are some that would be easy, like Freakshow, but I know I wont be getting seeds of that.

Why not, pretty cool plant.

Oh ya awesome plant, but the odds of finding real seeds of it is pretty slim isnt it a clone only strain?

Lol no.
PM me your address, I got you.

Freakshow is a worked line available in many different generations of regular seeds. Definitely not a clone only strain

My longest flowering strain was an Amnesia Haze Auto. She went a week or two over 5 months. She just kept flowering, and flowering. I ended up going 12/12, 10/14, and then 8/16. The last 2 (10/14 and 8/16) prob wasn’t needed, but I was anxious and tired of looking at her. She gave me 8z or so. I can double that with a photo, in the same amount of time; and pay less electric.

I and others can pull an elbow plus from an auto plant in under 90 days, they’re not small plants.

Not sure what you mean by a 4 month plant and a 5 month plant. Environmental conditions will significantly slow down autos, if a plant is running 4-5 months, barring some wacky genetics, it’s typically the grow/grower.

It takes mad skills to get that kind of harvest from a seedling in 90 days. Everything has to be perfect. I’ve done it before but you need the genetic and environmental harmony.to make it happen. It’s not something a newbie should expect right away

Made another order today from radogear.com. was able to snag a pack from his puffy payton drop.

Another trusted bank i can vouch for is luscious genetics. Great place to order, I’m sure ppl have already made a post about them.

You’re spot on, it is a cheesey biz. Don’t get me started on the cannabis specific foods and supplements.

How many times have you seen folks screw up, pose like they know the genetics of Haze? Jamaican Lambsbreath, Panama, just a bunch of crap.

Years ago I had conversations with Sam the Skunkman who lived next to the Haze brothers in Oakland. Sam provided either some or all of the genetics, they created the hybrid. The real Haze was Acapulco Gold X Colombian Gold X (S. Indian X Thai). This was corroborated by a “seed finder” with The Flying Dutchmen in a conversation I had with them.

Having said that I’ve grown out plenty of Haze. It’s more of a legend not having any credible merit to it. IOW, it’s not worth my time.

Original, yep. When it says that on something it’s not usually a good sign. I don’t know much about Haze lore, but it’s probably killer bud no matter what it is/was. If you bred with something out of that pack at least that part would be verifiable. Beyond the name on the pack and the breeder it’s hard to confirm much with a high level of confidence.

I crossed it with C99, Peak19 and others around 2001.

This was a Haze X C99 experiment, a seedling.

I’ve had nothing but stellar experiences with the two seed banks I typically deal with (NASC and DCSE), but I strayed and now I feel I have to write this up.

I have been following the @MAHAKALA Juicy Woo thread for some time now and was excited to see there was going to be a drop of Juicy Woo and Mind Blower at Get Seeds Right Here dot com. I went to the website and saw there was a 3-week waiting period, but he was taking pre-orders (should have been my first red flag). I placed an order for Juicy Woo and the transaction seemed to go smoothly so I contacted him (I’m not going to use his name) and asked if I could add Mind Blower to the order. He said no problem and even refunded me $10 for shipping because he was going to combine the two orders. He seems like a very personable guy. We chatted back and forth a bit about some Nevil’s crosses and went about our business. I’m not going to go into painstaking detail, but after two months of occasionally inquiring about the order, I sent a DM to MAHA asking if the guy was legit and MAHA assured me was and to give him 3 more weeks. The at 3 weeks was two days ago, so I sent another email asking about the status of the order and as usual, crickets.

I don’t blame MAHA at all. The only reason I DM’ed him was to make sure the guy wasn’t advertising his seeds without MAHA’s knowledge. What really blows my mind about this whole experience is that I never nagged him. Every other week or so after the 3-week waiting period I would send him an email asking when he thought they were going to ship. I went to his website recently and I see he’s raised the prices of MAHA’s gear by 33% so I can only conclude he’s been filling those orders first.

At the end of the day, the jokes on him. We spend a lot of money on seeds and had this transaction gone smoothly, he could have been added to the list of vendors we normally use.

Caveat emptor.

@Coda

Interesting. I ordered some of Maha’s work from them last year totally without issue. Juicy Woo and Chocolate Funk. Both in-stock and arrived quickly.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I’d keep pestering until they ship. I’d be happy to send you maybe half the pack immediately, and you can replenish them if/when they show up. I was going to pop a few outside this season :sunglasses:
