Seed making time for jack herer, white rhino and banana cream pie in AZ

Plants are looking healthy! So are these all growing outside in a greenhouse with some additional lighting?

Vegged indoors, thrown in greenhouse to flower, will be getting first flower tea this morning

Well hereā€™s an update. Jack herer ended up being 2 males and 1 female, sent them over to a friendā€™s place local to finish up the run, Iā€™ll get pics this week one of the days Iā€™m over there

White rhino Iā€™m keeping in the greenhouse to open pollenate with 3 fems and 1 male

All 4 banana cream pies ended up males, gonna plan on collecting pollen from em to make available to the community and have them moved into the front yard away from any ladies. Intake on greenhouse is a swamp cooler so shouldnt have cross contam since the water in the cooler should neutralize any stray pollen

Pics are of white rhinos

One thing Iā€™ve considered doing and would like some feedback is taking the white rhino ladies and throwing 1 each with jack and BCP for some crosses, wondering if the community would be interested more in crosses or the ibls

Nice man ! Definetly save some of that Banana CP pollen. Shame non came out female, but you can definitely use the pollen in the future.
And your idea to make a cross now soinds like a good one, I have no objections :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. Thou it may make it difficult with the other projects going on. Thank you for the update, everythings looking good so far.

Well hereā€™s what Iā€™m seeing with the banana cream pie males, got 2 studs that really stand out to me, the one is getting some nice coloring on the pollen sacks and the other is doing the same yet I like how the plants lower branches all shot to the top even though itā€™s not as tall. The other 2 plants look awesome too but main thing to note was the ginormous leaves on it

Yup! I sure can, my summer grow im going bananas anyways running all banana cultivars I can get my hands on, def wonā€™t hurt my feelings to have some of this fairy dust around for some awesome stuff to grow in 2023. Doing crosses wouldnā€™t be hard cuz each set of plants are all in different locations, be as simple as setting the females next to my desired males

Looking good.
One of the BCP males has a nice dense main cola. Worth saving pollen for sure.
Remember you need to make your breeding decisions before any pollen flies. If any of the girls are exposed to more than 1 type of pollen the seeds will be a total crap-shoot in terms of lineage.

I for one would vote for IBL reproductions over crosses.

Keep up the good work.

Definitely more interested in IBL repros. Once thereā€™s a ton of the IBL seeds out there, the crosses will follow naturally. Freezing some pollen from the males wouldnā€™t be a bad idea though, either to have on hand later for your own crosses or to send out.

If your not keeping clones of the girls to do a second run with collected pollenā€¦ then I would personally prefer the straight WR over a cross, but thatā€™s just me lol. If you have WR seeds and pollen, then you can always make crosses with others later on.

Cool to hear about the ratio on the Jack. I have not had pure Jack in a while, and even though I said I was over it many years ago, it is nice to see someone running some! I will definitely be tuned in for how that progresses with them.

Jackā€™s definitely one of those flavors that was so over done that now no one runs it and despite myself I really miss that wild sativa high terpinolene thing from time to time. So cool you got enough to make new beans!

Itā€™s actually a dual cola coming in although hard to tell from the pics, thatā€™s the male with all the lower branches shooting to the top I was referring to and is the same plant in pic 3,4, and 5 and in the first pic of all 4 is the top right and one of my favorite males. The next fav is the tallest in the bottom right of all 4 with the close up as the 2nd pic with all the nice purples coming in, the big leaf fucker is bottom left

No pollen has dropped yet for anything and why Iā€™m getting this plan lined out now, another week and plant fuckin should be beginning.

Sounds like the concensus is the ibls and a very good point that with plenty of the ibl beans the crosses can flow down the road so gonna agree and make that the game plan

End of the day for the community it appears the jack herer should have a decent amount of beans, and white rhino with 3 fems should be a royal fuckton of em. Gonna try to copy what @DougDawson did with the PPP males he had and just produce and stockpile as much pollen for banana cream pie as I can to offer out to the community. Prob best to label the phenos/desirable traits and keep seperate the pollen from each plant it came from.

I know, I am hard pressed to remember the last time I encountered Jack in the wild. I remember how prevalent it was as a secondary option to some terrible commercial. Never had the opportunity to grow some, but I can remember that funky and wild high terpinolene lol.

So technically there was a 4th jack, seedling had some issues that I had to dome it for a few weeks just to get it to survive and take off, didnā€™t keep up with the rest and the plant looks pretty funky, honestly no clue what to even do with it at this point cuz itā€™s too late in the season to throw outside to flower and is currently under 24hr, could always limp it through the year and put outside end of August

no preflowers still since the plant hasnā€™t made it to maturity and is still in a 3 gallon, date on tag is 12/5 so 2 months old

These males of banana cream pie sure are some stellar looking studs and they stink so good. Def worth saving some pollen off these bad boys

Not the cleanest pollen since plants are outdoor but collection has def started with the two best phenos, Iā€™m shaking the plants down over glass and razoring it up, always so awesome to see a pollen sack drop and explode all over the glass

Not sure if youā€™ve seen these but this has been a huge help with pollen collection for me. Nice clean pollen all ready for use or long term storage. I think itā€™s just called a pollen shaker and someone else here on OG had recommended but canā€™t recall who now.

Yep same, would love White Rhino IBL beans rather than crosses.
