It was a bizarre time. And look at it now. Thanks again for keeping it going!
Ghash and Ortega nice old school combo
Yeah, they’re (PPP) looking good now. They’re in solo cups. I was having performance issues in my grows and I think it’s my old recycled substrate/soil/perlite being too broken down. I feel like they’re not geting enough oxygen.
I bought a new bale of ProMix HP M and some Ocean Forest soil. I have lots of EWC, so I’m going to be putting anything from here on out into a fresh substrate.
I’m gonna pop more PPP, pronto. I’ll get some to others early, all ready to grow.
My wife and I drove through the bustling mountain town of Paonia this week, while we were on our way to camp the Black Canyon and Silver Jack near Ouray. The valley is quite lush by Colorado standards, and is a good area for short season outdoor grows. Compared to most towns, it’s at a relatively low elevation of 5,700ft. Likely that a lot of snow melt runoff is directed toward the valley, improving the agricultural conditions.
We kept an eye out for guerilla grows, but couldn’t see any from the back roads we were on. It’s a very remote area, but with beautiful views, especially around Redstone where iron rich rock outcroppings contrast with the granite and sandstone in most other areas of the mountains.
The town is very small. What you see in the picture is the entirety of Paonia’s commercial district. Just outside, there’s a block or two of residential housing, and by the time you’ve driven a half mile, it’s rural farms.
I didn’t take this picture (street view), but just down the way is Crawford. The state park & reservoir is in the opposite direction of this view. My wife and I swam and fished a bit in the reservoir. She almost pulled in a sizeable small mouth bass, but it wrapped the line around a buoy chain and got away.
If you drive around the back of the reservoir and down the road a bit more, you come to the north rim of the Black Canyon national park. It’s an incredibly stunning canyon that is very narrow and deep. I think it’s about 2700ft deep in parts, and narrow enough that some parts of the canyon only receive about 30 minutes of sunlight per day.
It’s one of the most beautiful areas I’ve seen in Colorado. As you smoke your PPP, think of kicking back and relaxing in the warm, dry summer air of Paonia!
Unfortunately the plant didn’t turn out well…in short, wasnt able to seed.
So is 4P a cross between PH and PPP?
That’s correct 4P Haze is – 50% PPP, 25% Ace Panama, 25% OT Haze.
Thanks Lefty, I enjoyed reading your thread!
Did these drop already ?
I was wondering that myself, imon the list and assuming there going out to distributers for the fall mail out ?
They are in MOTR’s hands. I think they’ll be in the next distribution.
Thanks for the pics! I was just looking at it on the map recently. The pic of the town sort of reminds me of Livingston Montana. I have a state park pass and want to hit the south, southwest, and west for parks.
I went to 11 Mile and Spinny Mountain Reservoir SP a couple of weeks ago. Colorado state parks are awesome.
I have 3 PPP going but still no sex. Looking like only one female maybe. That hail storm recently took a larger toll on my plants than first expected. I’ll pop more ASAP if so.
I’m thinking of the triple Durban and the 4P. Man, bountiful times. Lots of great up and coming breeders. The proof is in the pudding!
I’d really recommend checking out the North Rim campground at the Black Canyon if you have the chance. It was really impressive, and there’s Crawford State Park and Reservoir right next door. There’s only 13 sites, but I think they have some dispersed camping nearby as well. The first night, probably only 8/13 sites were taken, but the next night it really filled up and we saw a few people get turned away.
My garden is getting shredded by caterpillars this year. We were gone all of 4 days, and all of the leaves on all my vegetables were completely gone, down to the stems. Fortunately, we didn’t get much bad hail up here this year.
Good thing about worms, they grow fast ifn they eat too much, so you won’t have much trouble findin the fat bastards. Problem is they take on the color of which they eat, your leaves…
I’m high af and 2 drinks down…
Nvrmd my rhetoric
Hi @MomOnTheRun
Hope you’re having a great Summer!
Any chance you can give an update on this distribution?
Was wondering what happened with this, anxious myself
It’s on my wannago list, now. Our campsites are filled up on reservation. We only have two and one large multi-family or company party type space for lots of people together. Our lake is good for fishing and has nice vistas.
We have a new state park opening across from my house. Fisher’s Peak State Park. It should be open next year with hiking and stuff. It’s a cool story on making it happen.
Sorry to hear of the caterpillars. I’m afraid we’re up next. It’s been bone dry and hot, and plants are already stressed. So, now rain is starting. It’s our monsoon season. In two days we have our first mosquitos, I saw some random aphids on starter plants, and I don’t usually have them. I don’t have as many predator bugs as usual. The wasps have recently increased. We had an early outbreak of Miller Moths so they’re gone already. It’s gonna be weird for any 2nd half of outside growing. No telling what’s about to happen, lol. Hail, wow, I had two today in one day. I scrambled to move pots under trees or whatever. Neither turned out bad but if you saw the clouds… I had worse damage than I originally thought from an early hail storm. Plants stalled on showing any sex. Lots of limbs got knocked off. But, all are looking great again now. More males than usual, but one one female of each strain except PPP so far. I’m gonna drop more.
I’m going to drown 4P haze, LH Durban, more PPP among others.
She’s waiting on one strain I think, on top of being extremely busy. She has a thread called April Preservation Box Thread but it goes out as a PM. Lots of people opted out because of notifications or something.
I can try and post her recent post here if I can get to it before going for food and then bed… heh.
This what @MomOnTheRun posted last in the preservation mailing. It’s from 12 days ago.
