Hey bud, check out this doc that @Shadey updated, it is in the description of this thread. Will tell you all you need to know. The Coles not version is:
1: You sign up for seed runs and co-ops
2: Those seeds when ready are collected by the distributors and sent in either the spring box or fall box
3: Distributor contacts you for your details and payment for seeds and shipping. There is a $2 to $3 donation for each seed run that goes to the server fund.
4: Distributor mails you your seeds.
5: You start growing.

Ok thank you very much @ChronicMcBudz , @Shadey and @DougDawson , pretty sure I got it now.
So once we get the seeds we grow them right away? Or put in storage to run again in 2-3 years for seeds to give back? Sorry just want to make sure I understand fully the long term process/goals with this.

Once you get the seeds you do with them whatever you want, there is no rules regarding that. They are just yours.

One of the lesser goals of the seed runs was to run strains more than once so as to make sure the rare genetics stay in circulation, and newer members would have a chance to grab them as well. But thatās a years-long cycle, and I canāt think of any strains that have had a 2nd run yet. But there are certainly no stipulations what you do with the seeds.
Ever since MOTR left, the seed runs and how theyāre organized and distributed went through some changes. I feel like the official runs have sort of dropped off recently in favor of more side projects being handled differently. And thatās great too! But I wanted to try and steer back to the more āofficialā seed runs that anyone is welcome to join in on. Some of the previous seed run boxes under MOTR had like 10-15 strains in them! Iām hoping to do at least one a year, maybe more. Letās make the 2021 fall box a doozy! I feel the seed runs are one of the things that really makes this place special. Itās not easy to organize all that.
Iām not even close to pollinating yet. So sit back, relax, and be prepared to hold my hand if it all goes down the drain for some reason.
