Seeds to Weeds : Live & Learn Organic Edition👨🏼‍🌾📝

not trying to cause you any anger brother just really trying to help you avoid what is coming next for you.

this is what some one sent me a while back.

this was some of the dirtiest pollen i had ever seen, needless to say it was pretty worthless.

this is what it should look like done properly and after a 24 hour dry cycle.

a lone air got my eyes for a second but was removed before storing.

Ahhh i see i should have picked the plant material and left it before scooping :man_facepalming:t2: dang i really hope i didnt kill it and ill uncap the container and let it sit out with a papertowel on top to hopefully pull moisture

just spread it out best you can and pick all the junk out of it best you can as well.

if its something your going to be using right away then id get it use ASAP.

its a learning process for-sure, pretty easy but needs to be learned beofore it becomes just another part of growing.

I screwed up my timing. my legion sour OG female is still in veg for at least another week or so . honestly got to hold this for probably a month :grimacing:

Thanks for all that much needed info! Next time ill make sure i do it correctly so i dont waste my time

just get it out of that container, spread it out best you can CLEAN it up and let it dry properly. then use it when the time comes and hope you get something from your effort.

those pics above or of the thump tech, thats usually what i do AFTER i have collected the cleaner pollen that i want. the primo pollen i get is harvested by hand.

Got it, when i get home ill pick out any contamination and throw it back on parchment paper spread out.

How long should i leave it in the parchment for today? After i let it dry i put it back into jar and into fridge/freezer?

What is the thump tech? I also figured out i could harvest some pollen by squeezing the sacs lightly between my fingers, is that how you get the primo pollen?

well kind of a crap shoot now brother, id let it sit for at least 12-18 hours after you have cleaned it and spread it out on the paper.

if you going to be using in the next couple months id say frig, if longer id say you collect to much!!. i have never put pollen to freeze in my life and never will, i only take what i think i need for what im doing and if i know i want it for other projects i just store in the frig.

no do not do that either bother, talking about the squeezing thing.

my hand collection is just that by hand, i take my round puck you see there slide it under an open sac and then tap with the long chop stick. the tweezers are for removing and garbage that happens to fall into the fresh pollen, how ever USUALLY doing it like this there is no real cleaning to be done. just pure clean pollen falls into my pucks.

the thump tech is just me HOLDING the entire plant over the parchment paper and giving it a couple thumps with my middle finger, lower mid and top on the main. this pollen will need to be cleaned good before drying. this will also be the pollen i use for a later breed. the fresh pollen is what i use in the same run.

just remember to ALWAYS CLEAN THEN DRY FULLY before ever storing in ANY container, do not over fill your containers this will cause humidity and moisture could form. even if it takes three or four containers for the same strain it will be worth your time later down the road to use multiple containers.

most ppl who collect pollen and lose it USUALLY lose it to mold, meaning they did not dry and or clean it properly before storing. life of pollen can be pushed if these two things are done correctly, also strains are strains so some will list a short time and some will just last longer. but a proper dry/cleaning will for-sure help you in the long run.

Ahh yea i screwed up a lot of different ways with this. Live and learn is the moto and next time will be better :+1:t2:

Seriously tho @JAWS thank you for taking the time to give me the knowledge i need to succeed with pollen collection. I was very overwhelmed and found myself not knowing what to do next the whole time. The whole process felt off and well thats cause it was haha

They look close but not quite. I’m not seeing a lot of amber around and I saw a few clear bits. Almost. I bet they wouldn’t be bad now but it could go a bit.
