Crazy coat.looks beautiful. I have a 17 yr old female. Can’t believe they live this old. Pitbulls best dogs i ever owned.
Thanks buddy. Yeah I love em. I never want another breed. I couldn’t even imagine having anything other than a pit. I love the way they act around children. I love the way this dogs best buddy is a cat and I looooove the way she’s like a big beefy pillow.
They are very very good around my children. Mine do seem like they don’t like other critters. Probly part of breeding. I don’t fight dogs and personaly think it’s a very evil thing to do, need stiffer pennalties for the crime. Anyway, i noticed they need and crave human attention and touch. Very smart breed. First three i had, still have 1 left, i trained them to read hand signals and didn’t need a leash to walk them. I have 3 yr old male now and 2 yr okd pit kerr mix and the old girl.when and if she ever moves on to the big play ground in the sky i hope to replace her with big head blue brendal fem pit.
Forgot to mention, even if you dont make pits mean(i don’t) they are naturaly territorial. They won’t let strangers in house or yard. Who in right mind would enter with 2 or 3 barking growling pits?
Amazing animals. And yeah. You just have to socialize em super young. I took mine around to every house on the block and asked to have kids play with her and stuff. She is the biggest softy now it’s crazy. Lol
Totally agreed with you on the socialisation as young as possible, that goes exactly the same way with my Curto line Presa’s I carry mine around before they have even had their vaccinations (6 weeks old) and can go on the floor to socialise them with everything and everyone. 3/4 of mine are loved by everyone in my neighbourhood, 1/4 well he is the PP dog and only handled by myself with a good reason, but well behaved balanced and social as long as people understand dont try to touch him, dont eyeball him, dont let your dog run up to him. The neighbours do like him for what he is and represents though, because I have educated them about him and his training.
Im seein that Curto n his Presas Canarios is famouse outside Spain…
Anyway, I dont like his pups selection test (minute 3); I prefer Cambell’s one…:
I suppose it depends what you actually want the pup for, what you want from the adult dog. I use my own testing methods not anyone elses. If the breeder will not allow my tests, then I walk away. I dont like the spanish attempt at copying the presa with their alanos etc I am a hardcore fanatic. Each to there own though, live and let live.
Edit, PS Curto became a puppy miller breeding for money in the early 2000s. When they became popular in the USA, he changed his breeding program into a commercial entity. All my stock date way back before then.
Got to love Thomas in the video at the end, a very famous dog world wide.
sticking with the ski-lift theme - here’s my first and dearly departed wolf-girl, born on 4/20! 4/20/04 - 6/2/14
Nice picture by the river bed… Amazing, it looks a bit like Seattle u know…
Yup, your mountains look very similar to ours - New England. I remember flying into Portland Oregon the first time, damn, it looks just like home.
The rest of the West is all dry & crunchy in summer
discorilla I see you have semi-formal attire, I guess he’s working?
He runs my seed bank! Hahaha! I just do the legwork.
Beautiful dogs! Part wolf i take?
they’re all german shepherds…when the wolves come on the screen in Game of Thrones she does go flying off the couch barking…she’s got a sable coat vs. discorilla’s guy who is black & tan
very cool eyes! Like a wild fox. I would call him “Whitefoot” for a nickname. Or maybe “white toe”
