I’m growing autoflowers from wicked pissah seeds and night owl seeds.
Wicked Pissah Seeds: Cherry cookies v2 and sour raspberry kush
Night Owl seeds: mystery seeds known as Owl pellets.
Grown in 3 gallon smart pots in Coco coir with megacrop from seed to flower.
I actually started growing these back in June 23rd when the seeds germinated. I figured I should start a grow diary on overgrow since I haven’t done one here yet. Today marks Day 37 for these autos and will update with more pictures and past progress when I can. Stressed these autos a bit with broken branches and a fan falling on one. Will post those pictures up when I get to them.
Owl pellets
Thanks! The sour raspberry and cherry cookies actually smell like cherries and sour raspberrys when rubbing and sniffing them! Makes me hungry thinking about it. The owl pellets smells like cherry and celery.
They did start looking a lot better. The first to break ground was the cherry cookies followed by owl pellets and the sour raspberry which came up last and looked pale as you noticed.
This was from june 30th.
Will be posting more shots and updates until i catch up to today. First time working with autoflowers and i treated them kind of rough.
July 7 getting bigger! The leaf discoloration is visible her with those marks. What is up with that anyway? Just a little mutation? Either way I think it’s pretty neat. Topped the owl pellets.
More lst. This shot was taken this past week so pretty recent. I’ll have an update on what they look today when I can get back into the tent and snap some shots.
Most things look like that when they are starting could be anything, I had some black easter night shade take up residence in one of my pots but as soon as I found out what it was I pulled it in case the cat or dogs decided to chew on when I am not looking. Keep iit for a cover crop plant
I hate it when I do that, did my C99XGHP this morning one branch bent nicely the other craked and I had to tape it up to a stick for support.
Yeah hate it when that happens. I figured I was being too rough. Had high hopes for a clean run but still having fun. But then it happened on all 3 plants. Broke a branch on each autoflower this run.
Cherry Cookies V2 Updates! First to break ground and germinate. It actually smells like cherrys on the rub.
July 1st What I thought on this day. “Having high hopes for cherry cookies!”
July 11 Topped the cherry cookies. The leaves are different on this plant. I was starting to wonder if this cherry cookies is a runt? Gave it a topping.
July 17 I split her down the middle with lst! I believe I was pulling on her from different directions too hard. Taped her up and she recovered. Its unfortunate because the cherry cookies was a smaller plant to begin with and not as big as the other two.
July 25th. Opened the tent and had a fan fall on the sour raspberry kush. This was after I broke branches on both owl pellets and cherry cookies so when this happened, it just felt like everything was coming full circle. They all now have felt some stress from broken limbs. Sour raspberry kush was the last one to get this stress and the most damage came from this. Taped her up and left her to see what happens. What happened was I had to chop 3 banches off that didnt recover but the sour raspberry kush is still chugging along!
Yeah bad luck indeed but im still having fun! Did feel like 1 step forward and 2 steps back though. Seeing the plants come back is a relief.
I was so hoping sour raspberry kush and the cherry cookies got as big as I was expecting initially. I felt like I lost 30% on the sour raspberry kush but honestly, my tent is filling up and space is getting tight. Good luck on your c99Xghp!
August 1st update. Day 40 All caught up on the diary and here is what they look like. The sour raspberry kush is on the left, owl pellets on the right and cherry cookies on the bottom.
Owl pellets are stretching the fastest on the right. Sour raspberry kush filled itself out after losing branches and cherry cookies is the smallest of the plants. The leaves never really grew very big either.
Should I do a heavier defoliation? I’m still tucking and only taking leaves that are shading other budsites. This is always a big question mark for me on how much should I defoliate. I think I’ll slowly take more leaves off as the grow progresses to see how things go. I have never done a super heavy defoliation before and never with autoflowers since this is my first run of them.
With autos you only have a limited growth time, so anything that cases the plant stress slows it down, which is what you dont really want.
Saying that, you have to decide which will stress them more, leaving as is with the possibility of powdery mildew developing, unless you have good air flow through and under the plants and control of your humidity, or taking enough leaves off to allow good airflow through and around the plants. Looks like you have a bit of heat or light stress showing on some of the leaves, as they are stating to roll their edges.
Its starting to get some pre flowers going, so you have about 2-3 weeks of stretching to go, then they will be focused on making buds. From what I have seen, defoliation is mainly done prior to flowering and after the stretch. If it were me I would take off enough leaves to allow better airflow atm and see how they go, they might open up more with the stretch, you don’t want to be spraying stuff everywhere to get rid of PM when they are in flower though.
Have you taken off any leaves below the canopy at all?
