SmokeyGrows Autoflowers for the first time

Yeah I I’ll have to grab a bottle. I’m getting really tired of these fungus gnats. There aren’t many but they are there. I might try mixing some hydrogen peroxide into my next watering to maybe get at the larvae and eggs in the coco. My humidity had been in the mid 50’s.

I just took a dried sample smoke of cherry cookies and sour raspberry kush and oh boy am I happy and chilled out. Sour raspberry kush was very frosty when I broke up the buds and my fingers were super sticky.

I dried 2 shaded underdeveloped colas of Cherry cookies and I plucked off all the airy buds I could and had enough for 1 bowl. I wasn’t expecting much for a high but I was taken out of my previous high and was immediately leveled out and felt so chill. Smile to my face and everything I wanted. Anxiety gone.

Sour raspberry was next and I felt more energized, calm and drowsy at the same time after the smoke. Felt like it tasted sour.

Hydrogen peroxide should take care of the larvae and eggs, I buy my yellow stickers from Amazon, you can get a great deal compared to Walmart or the do it yourself places.

Double sided 8x5 inch x60 for about $22.

Im following along with great interest. I just started my first autos 7 days ago in an aeroponics setup. Im really curious to see your yields per plant and how long it takes from sprout to harvest.

I used to worry about grams per watt, but I am starting to think grams per day is a much more practical standard to go by.

Looks to me like you’re doing an excellent job

@anon32470837 That’s awesome! I’m very curious as well as to yield considering the mishaps of broken branches. From what I’ve read from other people growing autos it seems they generally finish in 90 days and that’s what I’m expecting from the looks of it. But sooner would be nice as well.

What autos are you growing?

I got these auto seeds from @ReikoX - Ghost Toof#2 x Sugar Black Rose. He says these should finish in 8 to 9 weeks.

I also ordered some high CBD autos from @Sebring seeds. I’ll run them next. After that, Im probably going to look for some C99 Autos.

Those sound awesome!

It’s day 75 of my autoflowers and I think I’m close to the finish line! Harvest is coming and trim jail.

Sour Raspberry kush has rock hard buds.

Owl Pellets is my biggest auto among the 3 and has a mix of Amber trichomes and still some clear heads.

Cherry cookies v2 could go a little longer. I also placed it on a platform to even out my canopy that was towards the end of flower but happy I finally realized that’s a possibility lol.

I’m thinking I’ll harvest in 5 days or sooner for some if I notice the trichomes are all milky. I’ll be breaking out the magnifier to do some more checks.

Nice going, they look great.

Thanks for all the great advice @Shadey ! Much appreciated throughout the whole grow. Taking this experience and moving on to my photoperiods that are currently flowering. Hoping to cut back on burning tips this next run.

And they all got the chop on day 79! I never did a full plant chop and dry before. It’s felt so much easier than cutting single colas off to hang.

Super stiff branches on the srk. I broke this piece off for a closer look for myself.

Currently in trim jail. Still have sour raspberry kush to trim up.

Current yield of dried and trimmed

Owl Pellets probably heaviest yield at 4.75 ounces.

Cherry cookies smallest of all 3 autoflowers yielded 1.25 ounces.

79 days from seed.

Very happy about how owl pellets came out. I think I really like autoflowers for what they can do.

Wow that’s better than a lot of photo plants do. Very nice haul from an auto.

So so happy with the results! I’m surprised I was able to get such a good yield! Grand total from all three plants come out to 9.5 oz which got me 1.3 grams/watt. I was running 200 watts in that tent. Sour Raspberry kush would have yielded more if I didn’t have a fan fall on it but very happy for the 3.5 oz I did get.

For 79 days from seed, I’m definitely going to continue happily growing autoflowers along with photos.

Pretty good total and G per W ratio, should keep you in smokes for a while

Im a total newbie as far as autos, but that yield sounds ok to me from what I have read from other grows.

Its not bad even for photo period grows. My last soil grow I ran Northern Lights and CBD Critical. I netted 4.5 grams per day over the grow period. Your numbers work out to about 3.4 gms per day.

By the way, Im running a one man campaign against using Gm/Watt. I think its a meaningless value unless you include a time factor. My last grow, I netted over 2000 gms dry on 300 watts which works out to 6.6gm/watt - and thats not counting the several hundred grams of fluff and smaller buds I threw out. So, if you have long grows with huge plants, your Gm/watt numbers will always look very good, but if you grow shorter flowering types, it will always look bad. Neither one really tells you useful data.

BUT - that number doesnt show that it was an over a 5 month grow. I had a real tree in my tent. The gms per day turned out to be pretty close to what I have been averaging on my hydro grows.

Anyway, thats my campaign speech for today. Well done on the grow!

I agree on the time factor. I havent ever put up a grams/watt value before but thought it was meaningful since I I started from seed to finish in 79 days which seems typical finishing time for autoflowers so I thought why not throw it up.

Sorry if that came across as a criticism of you using Gm/Watt. Didnt mean it that way at all.

Pretty much everyone uses that as a way to measure/compare grows, so its not ‘you’ for sure  Plus, you were indeed ahead of the pack by also giving the total grow time, so well done!

This is just a minor pet peeve I have with some of the ‘stoner science’ that we all get exposed to every day. Ive decided to pull a Don Quixote and tilt my lance at this particular windmill of misinformation that is floating around the forums. Wont make any difference in the long run, but it is good for the ego to fight the good fight

No worries @anon32470837 . I agree on correcting the stoner bro science. It’s primarily why I joined overgrow.

I remember spending many weeks going through other forums to learn to grow and boy am I glad those questions are rarely asked here and are mostly cleared up.

Yeh they do, I like your explanation of relevance to GPW with time added as well, makes a lot more sense. I always queried people when they used it, asking how long they vegged for, and thought well that aint so good, when you are vegging for 4 months, to get a huge plant. With the autos you pretty much always around 70 days start to finish so you know roughly what the GPW to days is.

ja, I hate it when that happens! :confounded:
