Most cell phones have that built in. You can likely just download a free light meter.app for your phone.

So I downloaded the light meter app. . .and it’s saying I’m pushing 10,240 lux at 3 inches away at 3.7 volt and 10,240 lux at 6 inches away at 4.5 volts

She it’s good enough for comparison measurements like that. If you want to get fancy, you can get a PAR meter, but they are expensive. I still haven’t gotten one yet… yet

Lol ya I was actually surprised that it worked so well. . .it told me my 14w energysaver florescent light was only push 320 lux. . . So I don’t know how accurate it is but for what I need it for it worked great. I’m assuming even if I added the 45 other led strips my lux don’t go up, and if I can pick up one of those par meters , I’ll let you borrow it reikox:grin:

Manual like override @meesh, Not bad for grow bro science eh @McMuffin, lol I won’t lie they look a lot bigger in the pic, probably the smallest popcorn buds I’ve ever grown but for strictly in the window only 3 hours of direct sunlight and hydro by eye I’m happy with the data I’ve collected, plus I’ll be getting seeds from both a razzleberry cross and a LR x UV2 “quick draw mcgraw” auto cross

Did a little fiddling with my light meter app and got the max output reading to go higher, still don’t think it’s accurate but I’m pushing at least 20,480 lux
This is at the same height as the top of the little one
And that’s only at 4.20 volts I can crank it up to 6 volts overloaded and 5 volts highest rated volts

The Good
She’s frosting up real nice already, and has an amazing grape/berry aroma with a very slight skunk musk. . . .
The Bad
With less than 3 hours of direct sunlight, her buds are the smallest baby buds I’ve ever grown, but i expect quality over quantity and tbh I didn’t think my hydro by eye would work very well hehe
The Ugly
This is my ghetto “reservoir” . . .it started rusting a few weeks ago, and I left it as a little experiment to see if it would cause any harm to the plant in any way. . . Nope

She has been in there under the light for over 72 straight hours. . .long enough that she would be showing light dep symptoms, which she is not. . .
She looks just as good as she was in the window with 4+ hours of direct sunlight, so my tester faze is over and it’s on to the full Monty

Built the ghetto frame out of some aluminum framing off a broken window
Couldn’t find any of my drill bits so I had to make it “lock” together, with tabs and grooves
20 led strips soldiered so far 30 more left lol. . . This is what it should look like (it’ll be straighter) when it’s finished
Anyone have a suggestion for a good high temp glue to attach the mini led strips to the aluminium? There is no way to screw/mount them, so it’s got to be glued:v:

Thermal tape is gonna be your best bet there brother. High tack both sides and operates to around 80c. Looks good btw for ghetto rigging

A little size comparison, it’s only 5"x 6"
I’m thinking it’s small enough to increase lumen by making the area of illumination smaller, but big enough to grow 1 plant with hopefully great results
