Sons Of Avery's Organic Grow Journals

Bit of an eventful week for me, so not much happening in the garden.

Spent 3 days in hospital with my partner in labour, and Friday morning our son was born!
Happiest day of my life!
He’s an absolute joy, even if he’s weeing all over me :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The garden here has been on the back burner this week, wich has inadvertently allowed me to take @Rogue 's advice and dry down the top layers haha :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I even decided to water down a pipe and into the centre of the bed. Figured I might as well try what was suggested as I was half way there anyway.
Will see how that goes over next couple days.
Plants seem to be defined to be fair.

I’d already ordered some larger sticky traps, and now they kind a just look like over kill too😄
I did some defoliating and lst on the PDD and I’ll probably flip to flower in a weeks time.

Tomatoes have loved the recent thunderstorms too!

It’s been a hell of a week, but we’re all home now, and she’s recovering. While we are figuring out our new (non)sleep patterns :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@Rogue thanks!!
I’m loving ever second of it!!

There’s a lyric from a song by The Streets, that has been playing over and over in my head. Possibly one of the simplest and yet most profound

For billions of years since the outset of time,
Every single one of your ancestors survived,
Every single person on your Mum and Dad’s side,
Successfully looked after and passed onto new life.
What are the chances of that like?
It comes to me once in a while,
And everywhere I tell folk it gets the best smile.

 :v:

Nice, dude, congrats on the baby. That’s crazy… haha.

Re: the sticky traps, you don’t have to use the whole thing haha, you can just cut them up to whatever size you want them.

Yeh, I’ll probably cut these down. Just thought I’d give them no chance of escape

Thank you!!

Surprisingly enough, the next day after he arrived, my partner said to me that she wanted to have 2 more! I was like, OK, let’s just see how we do with one to start with!

Thank-you! And yeh, I’m loving every minute of it! And loving this new adventure we’re all on.

Yeh, it’s going to be a lot of work haha.
But I’m actually looking forward to it!

I’ve been lucky enough to get a lot of paternity leave from work, so I have the first 3 months at home. Plenty time to get into a routine and keep the garden in check haha

Took some time yesterday to check in on the tent and see how things are going.
It was nice to get my head in there, it’s my little zen garden. (it’s only a 2.5ftx2.5f so I can’t exactly fit much more than my head in hahaa)

The two Durban x Zkittles (DBZ), are coming along nice, they’re 4 weeks behind the PDD.

The Purple Diesel Daze is bushing out nicely.
I’ve dropped the hours to 18/6 yesterday, and I’ll be dropping down 1 hour every 2 days. Until I reach 12/12, I plan on dropping that again about 4 weeks into flower, down to 11/13.

With the gradual transition into flower happening, I’ll be adding a topdress over the straw mulch in a day or two time. It’s a homemade blend of worm castings, Kelp meal, crustacean meal, Basalt rock dust and malted barley.
I’ll water that in with a tea, got a bit lazy and haven’t actually gave them a tea yet so far.

Also, look at the fucking size of this tree in the park near me. I stood in absolute awe of it for like 5 mins, just shaking my head at how massive it was :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: and I wasn’t even stoned!

Started brewing a tea today for use tomorrow night, aprox 20 litres.
Couldn’t be bothered to measure anything going in, but it included in small amounts, some Kelp meal, Alfalfa meal, nettles, worm castings, pinch of Aloe, quillaja and molasses.

I’ll be topdressing tomorrow, and will water it in woth this brew. :coffee:

Top dressed and watered in with a tea yesterday, lights are now down to 15/9
Tomorrow they’re going down to 13/11.

Also bottled up my first KNF Fermented plant juice today, made from Thistle flowers Fermented with brown sugar for just over a week. Looks to be about 100ml, to be used at a 1:500 dilution rate.
And also started a process of making my own LABs with rice wash.
