Hey guys, I’m a spicy pepper lover too. Good peppers are hot three times, or course when you eat them, often when you clean the seeds and touch your eyes or face without realizing, and finally usually when you take a shit after a nice hot sauce! .
Thought about sharing some pics of my past pepper grows:
The garden from some years ago:
These are some old Chiles from Chiapas:
I’ve personally collected this ones during a trip to Vietnam:
More Chiapas:
Chile de Arbol:
Vietnamese:
Hawaiian heirloom that a friend sent:
They turn orange/red when ripe
Some peppers from the past season, including Nepal, Criolla Di Sella, Orange Hab, Aji Cristal, Aji Limon, Buena Mulata and Aji Mirasol.
Would love to trade seeds… always looking for heirlooms and exotic landraces from Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Asia. Sugar Rush Stripe too, Aji Mango, Aji Ayuclo, Cheiro Roxa, Pimienta de Neyde, old Jalapeños, C. Pubescens, C. Baccatums… Not interested in superhots though. Don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best.
Fine looking stock @Heirloomwizard !
Ohh love the colors of your peppers ,) Are they all hot peppers or milder types? @Heirloomwizard
I’ve got some growing too, but forgot mostly what I planted outside of Jalapeno… this is my last harvest a few days ago.
I’ve got ghost pepper and scorpion pepper plants going. My super chili’s are making peppers atm. And so are my super cayenne plants. Most have just started, the ghost and scorpion have not flowered yet. I’ve only harvested 2 tomatoes so far but I have a whole ton coming. Seems like things are alot later here than a ton of other users. I have seen full harvests of stuff and our cherries just barely got ripe. The apples aren’t even close.
I’ve never tryed any of those types. My apples should be done in end of September/October as well. Watermelon and other melons just started here and waiting forever on any tomatos so far.
I got a little cherry bush and started a few more from seed, but 1 of my Blueberrys is pumping them out currently. Blackberrys half way done.
I hope you all have amazing harvests this season @Pawsfodocaws
@CADMAN Hey man, they are most pretty hot except for the big Aji Mirasol and the Chile de Arbol.
I also have the Aji Panca, which is milder and usually dried, I really enjoy these ones. I have plenty seeds. The color is similar to the Chocolate Habaneros and they are also huge peppers.
You’ve got a great mix of peppers going on!
Nice, I think I have one of these growing (not flowering yet). My largest chili plant this year by far. Do they get a smoky taste when dried?
Indeed, the Aji Panca and Aji Amarillo are some of the largest plants I’ve had as well! They get huge, peppers too!
Yeah they have an interesting taste for sure. But I love smoking my peppers when I dry them, I believe smoke prevents any mold and adds an interesting flavor for sure. I’ve learned that technique from a Mexican friend.
It looks awesome. Haha, give your wife credit for the smooth hand modeling
About to pickle some red pepperoncinis. And some purple bells and crackle peppers, which are super mild. Almost like it just warms the mouth
Cayennes this year are looking pretty good, dang near a foot long, but one of the jalapeno plants is coming up short. I seem to have stumbled across the long fabled thumb-dick pheno.
Nice looking plants & peppers everyone. I wish I could still do the really hot stuff. My mouth still loves it but everything south of my stomach can’t do it anymore.
Mine is really setting fruit now, probably a dozen more small peppers on this small plant. One is starting to crack like a jalapeño but still really firm. Whatcha think @RadioWaves go ahead and pick it? I notice you pick yours when red.
I would let it turn red and pick it .
Not sure but I imagine the flavor comes out when it’s ripe.
That plant of yours looks like it’s doing pretty good!
