Just thought I’d share mybexperience with a sticky zipper on my grow tent.
When I put my grow tent away I cleaned it and put it in a box. But now when I pulled it out to use, the zipper was very sticky and actually it made the teeth misalign and the tent door looked ruined. So I brought down the second zipper to fix the misaligned section which it did. Then I proceeded to get a used toothbrush and cleaned the entire zipper. Then I ran chapstick lightly over the zipper teeth.
What do you know, now the zipper glides open and closed. I couldn’t bear to use any sort of oil but found this as a nice fix.
graphite has worked for me for zippers in the past.
You can use a bar of soap to lubricate the teeth on the zipper as well and it lasts a good while.
Just be careful how much you use as it will also hold dirt and dust. I use a silicone spray meant for tent zippers and it works well.
Butt have you tried:
LOL, I use beeswax…
We have quite the range of products…
Heady, does your SO know you ran off with the lube yet?
Cheers

I’m single like a Pringle! That’s for my own personal use.
You did this on purpose, right? There’s no way that double entendre just slipped out of you by accident, no matter how lubed up you are…
I was waiting for someone to catch it…
I use a candle.
With a bit of lube first?
Both my 4x4 zippers are fked up, but still work.
One the teeth misaligned like yours but its only open at the top of the door, I can still open & close it & the sides are fine. I put gorilla tape on the inside, still get negative pressure
I asked the company for a replacement because it happened the first year, they argued with me said it was my fault but sent one
it was all busted, two of the corner connector posts was bent & there was no zipper on the main tent.
There were two zippers on the side panels so I took one off each side, the thing was already up & I wasn’t taking it back down, and put them on the main zipper and zipped it up.
I had to do all that again, moved & I just set them both up in my garage 5 days ago. I’ll try the wax if the tape fails.
If y’all keep talking like this, I’M gonna be the one with a sticky tent zipper!
I too use beeswax. Really works well
both of my tents ended up with zipper problems. my 3x3 had a jam and wd-40 fixed it. my 5x5 is more of a problem. it’s zipper teeth are all jammed and broken in 2 places, and gets stuck in another spot. luckily i can still access my plants, but i can’t afford a new tent.
My gorilla tent zipper derailed irreparably, so I bought a roll of velcro. Same same.
While your product has caused me to work zippers just not on my grow tent
