Hey Hi, I’m subbing in. I found a very skunky girl in a unexpected place. The breeder was JAWS and the strain is Green Crack x Fruity Pebbles Ogee.
These tall branchy plants carry an oder that is staight up skunk on the roadside. the first run with her was two plants in flower, one tall and one half the size. Crazy long fractal branching… strong though.
Anyway flowering these out I kept thing Burning Rubber smell then I took a travel and Instantly recognized.
The only thing is its skunk at 50-60 days but cures to a fruitier version, not as much skunk. Kinda weird to change so radically.
Enjoyed the read so far, looking forward.

Welcome aboard.

This is my experience as well. The skunk smell seems appear at random and vanish after a few weeks. My latest phantom skunk experience came from a kc brains mango. She reeked of skunk in the 4th 5th and 6th week of flower then that disappeared and a peach ring candy smell took its place. Very odd lol

Hoodoo18 should hold the smell in the jar as it cures.

These are last round’s skunk A progeny

I put them in the flower chamber by mistake for a week, and now after a week of veg they just keep flowering… so I’ll uppot them and bend them over to encourage branching and just flower them :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

My first impression is that they all have wider leaves and none have the sickly sweet smell some of the first round skunks had, so far I’m happy with them. I’ll be looking for a skunky male to pollinate my skunk A. Might also open pollinate them just because.

A week of flower is nothing if they are going to be inconvenient for you they’ll continue to show pre flowers but shouldn’t actually bud your safe to continue vegging. What you did should help with sexing them in the next few days.

They fit nicely into the current program actually. I got many more males than I wanted on the other strains so it’s all good. :slightly_smiling_face:

Any other strain I would of kept them in veg but for some reason these skunks are very tough to reveg and I feel I’d just be wasting my time.

I had 5 cuts from skunk A and only one revegged properly, all others are still growing half assed buds after months in veg. Skunk E also never reverted.

Just a little progeny test and I’m learning a ton :stuck_out_tongue:

Usually anything that’s tough to clone won’t reveg or if it does it takes months . Your picture doesn’t really show any bud development that I can see but ya I definitely prefer cloning over reveg then if they’re still a bitch it’s time to move on .

Astute observation :ok_hand:

This line was the slowest to root from all the cuts I took last round, 50+.

Makes me scratch my head honestly. From reading the archives from an extinct 90s forum. The skunks available at that time had the reputation to reveg on a whim… what am I growing lol

You could probably bury a attached lower branch in the dirt and it would grow roots . Definitely true with a lot of the older genetics they just had one thing programmed it was to grow .

The funniest thing happened…

Skunk A progeny is showing all females and 1 hermie + 1 early hermie killed.

Now I’m without a male… as a last resort I could go the feminized route…

Hmmmm

Would pollinating them with a reversed Skunk A allow me to see if she is carrying a defective gene? I’m confusion…

I have vegged a plant 5 ft tall indoors…taken it outside…rugged up the branches and stem…dug a slanted hole put the plant in there and pushed it down to the soil and covered it with just all the branches sticking up…it was like a vine and all the branches grew upwards…it was nothing special and I’m sure would have grown bigger the normal way, but it grew roots everywhere it was buried in the soil…so yeah, burying it to the first branch…would get you roots…like air layering.

Hoodoos, Disgust-Os, cheese5 and sour lemon skunks pollen harvested.

Disgust-O #3 is flowering at light speed, and she smells sugary with a hint of orange of some kind for now, I wouldn’t mind if she stayed like that :stuck_out_tongue:

Cheese 3 smells absolutely sublime, licorice and something peppery maybe in the background. I must take cutsss haha

BUST.

it’s a bust.

There are some very nice plants, just not what I’m looking for.

With the exception of jinglepot cheese. Those stank so nice. Everything else is frooty girly weed, mission failed.

Until next time :tiphat:

Be good, stay safe
