Strainaholics Anonymous meeting

Awesome! Yea just need to be 21+ hehe. Everything was really nice and healthy. But he said that in the spring, expect the clones to be the standard 3-4 nodes above the cubes.

Hi allā€¦ I have a problem. I WANT THEM ALLā€¦ no noā€¦ I NEED THEM ALL!!!

Iā€™m currently at the ā€œif my wife knew Iā€™d be deadā€¦ like dead, deadā€ level of seed ownershipā€¦ Ya know what Iā€™m saying?! I think you all know or you wouldnā€™t be here hahaā€¦ Anyway just wanted to introduce myself. Does anyone else have an organized spreadsheet to document their seed collection?! Just checking.

 Welcome to SA!

Yep I have a spreadsheet, only way I can keep track of theā€¦ ~124 different strains and over 1200 seeds I haveā€¦ And Iā€™m sure my collection is small compared to a bunch here, thatā€™s only what Iā€™ve managed to collect in the last year of being a strainaholic :joy: :+1:

Yeah, spreadsheet. Iā€™ve been working on this for months, first I tried alphabeticall order, then I tried by relation. Thatā€™s where I fukd up. Itā€™s taking forever to get this documented. Thinking about just going back to alphabeticall order with the lineage added.

Iā€™ve found you can use pivot tables to re-arrange everything on the fly.

For the main list, I tend to prefer to sort by breeder first, and then alphabetically by strain second.

I tried alphabetically by strain first and while kind of easy to look up a strain, it can be a pain on some of the weirdly named crosses and such. So sorting by breeder first won out for me as 9/10 times I know who made it, and worst case thereā€™s always ctrl+f :joy:

I just have a column for each piece of info and use the excel sort to switch it around as i need to xD I am glad to hear im not the only one lol

You can always highlight them for different means. Quick visual analysis :ok_hand:

Yeah, my wife doesnā€™t know Iā€™m on the hook for 300 seeds in the second joti order.

Nice! :joy: Since my wife has been working from home for the lastā€¦ yearā€¦ she smokes more than I do now, and she has a decently sized shoe collection too, so she canā€™t say anything about my seed addiction

Thatā€™s exactly how I do it. My wife says she can show me how to do a pivot table, but it sounds like a whole other round of decision-making, so I havenā€™t taken her up on it yet. :grinning:

Impressive collection! Iā€™m at 750 seedsā€¦ and counting

So I have three separate sheets. One for the Indica, one Sativa and one for Hybrid classification. I organize alphabetically by breeder and found that better than by strain but I flip flop on how I feel about that sometimes. I also haveā€¦ get ready for it guysā€¦ LINKABLE TEXT in the strain names that takes me to a website with more info on that particular cultivar! I have a problem but I donā€™t careā€¦ this shit is fun AF. What the heck else am I gonna do?!

Yeah I did that too :joy: linked text for breeders to their own pages when possible, or strainfinder when there isnt, along with the strains, and even some of the strain lineages.

I keep it all in one sheet for now. Separated into columns:

Type(Fem/Reg) | Strain Name | Breeder | Actual Strain/Cross | Sealed Pack (Y/N) | Seed # | Date Received | Approx. Value | Flowering Time | Project/Keep/Trade | Additional Strain Lineage

I do occasionally play with sorting alphabetically, Iā€™ve thought about keeping a separate sheet sorted that way, but itā€™s also really easy to just highlight all the info, hit the pivot table button, and make a new list sorted alphabetically inside of 5 minutes without having to do a bunch of copy/pasta ^^

I need to do some sort of spreadsheet, Iā€™ve just been listing them as I get them, but not even including numbers. Then I have a constantly changing list/schedule (that may as well not exist) of what to grow in what order.
Now itā€™s not just seeds, I have clones that Iā€™ve been collecting to become mother plants, now became an even dozen purchased ones, and one gifted. Plus the two clones I kept from my first set of plants. Oh, did I mention I only just flipped my second set of plants since I restarted growing this past summer.

I wish I knew how to quit you, seed addiction! Every time I am done with buying seeds, I read about another drop that for some reason I have to have.
