I sprouted this girl from a bag seed of unknown strain. The leaves look like they are growing in upside down and non symmetrically. Any guesses on why? A random mutation?
Oftentimes, twisted or generally depressing looking seedlings stem from lack of food in the seed itself. Mama was malnourished…
What kind of medium? The reason I ask is sometimes a hot or nutrient rich soil can occasionally cause early seedlings to twist and show curled growth until it matures
This is sunshine mix #4, perlite, and worm castings. 6:2:2 ratio so shouldn’t be too hot.
Interesting! That’s completely possible since this is some random seed probably from back when it was illegal in California. I literally found a dozen seeds rolling around in a desk drawer and this is #3 that I’ve popped.
This will be a fun one, maybe I can turn it around and get some decent smoke.
Just to show not all my seedlings are garbage. This one is razzberry lemonade from bodhi. Started about a week later than everything else in the current batch, really showing me how important genetics are.
Once they can feed from the soil, normal growth should resume. Damage on the first couple nodes wont heal. They might be a bit stunted at first but no worries.
Have fun
Update on this, I’ve culled 3 of 5 plants at the two week mark. Those three were all bag seeds and “failed to launch”. I kept the weirdo plant and the razzberry lemonade.
The weird plant isn’t developing any nodes that I can see and is instead growing into this lollipop shape.
The razzberry is doing fantastic and I really hope it ends up fem. Currently pushing out node 5 so my plan is to top down to the third node this afternoon during the dark period.
