Sun Grown Bud Is Better

Plasma lights were how I found Opengrow. Sannie was testing Plasma for Gavita back in ~2010, and nowadays Gavita is known for their DEHPS more than anything.

Hey everybody! Turns out ol’ vernal doesn’t actually have a 6,000 C orb of hydrogen and helium 300,000 times the mass of the earth in his basement! What a CLOWN.

I knew a guy who had one but it was basically a 600 dollar 600w MH, in practice. Beautiful CRI though, the light was nice to look at plants under. If money was no concern it’d be a slick way to have a cool houseplant type display, big aquarium, terrarium, etc.

The stressors are part of the puzzle. Important for resistances and also specific terpene presentations etc.

Well uvc literally kill cells by damaging their DNA so thats not helping anything. I’m already using UVA in my tent. As well as IR, 3000k 3500k and 6000k with 660nm red and 420nm blue. I don’t think gamma or x-rays are creating more terpenes or cannabinoids, and research shows with most vegetables grown under high quality leds produce more nutrients than those grown outdoors, with more vigor and that the only time that taste was affected was when grow in hydroponics, and I believe that depends on what you are using for your nutrients. But since I’m using UVA and IR I’m still replicating the same stressors as outdoor since my UVA and IR are at higher levels and still create radiation that stresses the plant, I’m just cutting out most the bad stuff. It would be like if some one didn’t take enough foreshots while making liquor, you can still drink it as long as the methanol content is low enough without problem, but it would be nasty and probably give you a nasty hangover. Wouldn’t you rather have the liquor that had almost all of the methanol taken out of it and have a nice smooth taste with little risk of feeling like shite the next day?

Hey man, this is an impassioned discussion which always seems to follow such topics around.

Everyone can still provide viewpoints while avoiding the insults. Please keep this on track, all.

If you look at that post I’m talking sarcastically about myself in 3rd person…I’m the clown lol.

Sure, ok. Poking comments tend to cause deterioration. Just a reminder, not to just you, but those who are (or want to) engage in an interesting topic.

WTF all this sun grown is better back and forth “vernal bad/wrong” and you’ve been smoking indoor the whole time?

I just…what?

In my opinion it smokes better but that is just my opinion not gospel

Look up a couple inches. It is the literal title of the thread lol. Do you agree that indoor is better, then?

Pretty sure my drawn out post above covers that

No that’s just you talking about terroir and pointing out tropicals won’t finish at mid latitudes and Afghanis rot in humid environments.

Is sun grown or indoor weed better? Looking for yes/no.

Cause I can grow a nicer Afghani plant in my basement in perlite than I could on a rocky hillside in Afghanistan. Those plants are selected to tolerate certain environments, it isn’t optimal conditions.

I think almost everyone who’s weighed in on this conversation doesn’t think it’s as reductive as this. The right genetics grown where they were bread outside will always beat indoor in my opinion but it’s not just a binary discussion.

Do you think an Afghani plant grown in sand in Afghanistan and fertilized with camel dung is superior to what you can grow indoor? 'Cause that’s how they do it.

Plants are bred to tolerate certain conditions, it isn’t necessarily optimal. Wheat tolerates low rainfall but yields better with more rain. Does that make sense at all?

Nature does not optimize. Evolution works as hard as it has to.

You’re heading into racist territory with your statement on Afghani growers. How right do you need to be? Dragging other growers down to make a point isnt very classy.

I was sure it was heading towards what race grows the best weed .
