Holy shit, those are big quills!

Yeah they went in deep some places… The other dog had a quill right through the bottom jaw and came out the mouth. This all happened at 1:30 in the morning

Oh man, those are large quills. Gotta really be careful with the ones in his chest. If they break off, the tip will continue moving inward with every muscle contraction. The tip can travel right to the heart.

My dog couldn’t learn with those critters. I’ve always heard that a dog learns it’s lesson and will rarely attack one again, wrong! Same thing, late at night while I was out in town. I was out at the bar when I was back in school, and would come home to his face and mouth full of them.

Man, I felt sorry for him. I yanked every one that I could find, out with pliers and it made him crazy. Next couple of times he did it, he would start convulsing from seeing the pliers in my hand. Man, I hated doing that.

I had always heard about the danger to dogs regarding them, and one day, a long time later, I was observing my dog continually licking his lower leg. I had forgotten about porcupines. I went down to see what he did to it, and as I was rubbing the top of his paw and leg, I felt what turned out to be the tip of one of the quills. It was only about an inch long and was the hard sharp tip of it. The quills have barbs that prevent it from backing out, and only allows moving forward.

I realized then, that I hadn’t heard a wives tail. When all of the rest of the quill dissolves, the tip does not. Pretty scary really.

Prayers and vibes sent for your pups. Poor things just can’t resist a good varmint chase in the middle of the night. But, just be aware, those tips keep moving forward. peace

Oh, no! No. No pics of bad shit happening to dogs, please haha. Fuck… Are they okay now?

That’s always fun, isn’t it? When you think,”Okay! Time to put my feet up!” and then some disaster happens? Love it haha…

Dude, a buddy of mine came over the other day, just sitting around talking and he told me the most hilarious story about a dog and the owner being out of town. Funny you brought that up. Turned into a huge deal haha…

My dog didn’t and I always heard they wouldn’t do it after the first time. Not my dog. He always loved a challenge.
