Taking cuts from sick plants

So i finally found one of my white whale strains, literally a block from my house.

A customer at the dispensary i’m asst manager at told me he had a plant i’ve been searching for, and I could come by and take some cuts…

So I jump in the car with the stuff I need and head over right away only to find a complete mess waiting for my arrival…

A leggy plant that had been grown under weak lights, just starting to flower with obvious signs of the start of WPM.

Is there a way I can take cuts & treat WPM simultaneously?

(I really REALLY want this one!)

I wouldn’t but expect you could.

…and definitely keep plant isolated from any other healthy plants till it’s rooted and healthy.

I’d already removed 90% of leaf material and heavily doused everything with a sulfur/water spray and located them in an isolated part of the basement prior to posting, so it seems my instincts were correct!

I’ll read those entire threads shortly!

Here’s another clone sterilization tek, used for long term storage, so it might be effective for your diseased cutting! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::nauseated_face::mask:

Dunk in sulfur, spray with sulfur. PM will be gone easy. It’s the other hitchhikers that can really be a pain

What this guy said  if your trying to preserve it at all costs i can assure you Sulpher cures PM.You wont be worried on smoking it any way.I havent had PM in over a year using IPMs in veg and i live in a high stress environment for it

You can follow the guide I posted someone linked above. Dunking the cutting in a iso/bleach/ water bath will 100% kill WPM

I’ve successfully eradicated pm with an h2o2 funk on entire plants, gotta work on cuts too but I know Joe is the WPM eradication specialist. Hell get you sorted on the best possible method I’m sure

Already done. If he read the “Powdery mildew - An easily exterminated parasite” the mildew is fucked.

Is sulfur as effective on septoria?

It should be. I’d definitely try it out! Mulch around the base of the plant with cardboard and spray the leaves at the bottom. You should be able to view the colony with magnification. I’ve had positive reports, but haven’t tried it myself. Just be careful not to spray any on your buds, or it’ll taste like sulfur.

Thank you buddy. We have plastic mulch, have been stripping and spraying with sulfur. It’s just been raining so much for us it’s been crazy. 4-5 days of rain and overcast the other 2.

I wish you could get some septoria to scope for us. I mulched and then sprayed sulfur 3 times about a week apart. It almost seemed like it might have slowed it, but did not stop it in the least. Once flower started it ripped back through in force.
