Week 6

I’ve continued to create pockets of light to filter further underneath the canopy to concentrate on the lowers. The more light that gets down, continues flower growth and the leafy gets less to fill in better. With 3-4 weeks left I think this lower half will bulk up some. Res changed up to 1400 earlier last week. Still foliar feed 2x a day (liquid karma, big blue booster and tiger bloom 1/4 strength) I added a clip on over the smaller seed bearers to help maturation and whatever yield in the last half. Other than that, cycle ice bottles and keep watching. I’m hoping to see better fill in these last weeks, but yield may have to be addressed in the project. We’ll see what the dried weight comes in at. It’s almost like AB G13, the stretch prevents tight cola formation. The trich production is crazy and dense this early.

Again reminds me of G13 dense coverage appearance. The smell is sweet forest like, but as I posted on the project thread, dried does change to that signature pine-menthol, but it is without question like C5 to the lungs. Several years ago I tried The White, while I thought close, still not as hard hitting. I was right. The hit comes off hard, so the flavors are amplified to seem stronger. Instead of thinking it’s a strong flavor, I believe it’s really about the expansive nature of the smoke itself. This is interesting as many people who wrote posts on finding Crippy recall it by an intense flavor alone and not the expansive effect. Now I think it’s been a matter of misperception if this is making sense. Anyway, an early test has proven its genuine, so that speculation can be put to rest now. Also the Krippy Kush pics look quite similarly to mine lights off.

Thank you for your weekly updates. Good to hear that it’s legit Tampa crippy

@Emeraldgreen Yes, it is, however I think see why the price was high and not commercially viable for production. Happy to hear your appreciation for all the details being documented so anyone can find it

Week 7

There is some fattening, but it’s a field of nuggets. I’ve decided to defoliate leafy sites underneath at the bottom …what I’m seeing is more bud regrowth, as long as more light reaches down into those areas that are exposed. I’m talking about shaded molted leaves, drying tips to half way up. I see even shaded spots early on had nothing, now new bud sites building every day. Interestingly I’m still foliar feeding liquid blue, Mg and very light tiger bloom 2x.

As I said the combination of these has built a 2nd layer of mid size and smaller nuggets. I may cut it back, but as long as growth keeps on going I think direct feeding is adding more to that final weight tally.

I’ve started to drop res strength. I have Humboldt’s Sticky and Sweet coming on Wed, which I’ll begin for the flushing and hopefully glandular sweating and terpenes enhancement. Screen has helped keep it cleaner. Some hair, but nothing like last time thankfully which I think I’ve been able to show off this grow a lot better. Dense glandular coverage. The appearance gives its a nuclear green glow. Hence also being called Kyrptonite by some circles.

The smell is pungent, cause I don’t have to get too close. Like I said live plant differs from dried bud, which I find striking. Live is just like Bubblegum does and unmistakable, but it ends and starts changing over to the signature smell after dried, foresty-menthol and foresty menthol and funky tone. The odor is fooled and gotcha feeling. I think the Xmas could really bring out more piney-funk, along w a better squat structure w internode spacing closer in stretching

Yes @emeraldgreen there are similar characteristics, however Bubba Kush shows fatter sugar leaves than Crippy. It’s not a match from pics I’ve seen posted. One pheno is foxtailing more than the other. So Crippy isn’t a pure indica. I still say NL#2, NL hybrid pheno before lemon terps became part of the make up in NL5

Flowering: 60 - 70 days

I want to go more in depth about the flowering time. At roughly 50-56 days I’m seeing about 25% amber already. So around 60 will be about 50% I think 65-70 will have 75% plus, however I think past 65 is going to be too heavy and just knock you out. So I think it’s really 55-60 days total. 9 weeks for Max THC and lower ratio of CBN. 65-70 seems to be borderline degradation at the current maturation, otherwise I would see less amber coming in. Figuratively you can harvest 8th week onward, not 10 weeks. I’ll probably take it 60-63, and let other parts that show seeds go longer.

The description is on point. Heavy feeder, needs a screen or stakes as branching is a bit flimsy, tight nuclear crystalline cones and golf balls, pungent odor. However one pheno is late stage intersex. I don’t know, but pollen didn’t take as well either, almost resistant. I rolled a q tip w pollen from on each site several times, and no swollen bract. I’m confused why this happened. The B took much better than A, so I know it’s not a question of viability. It appears I’ll mostly be working w B unless I find errant seeds in A. The 2 main areas of work are thicker stems, reduced stretching and closer node growth to fill the looser spacing. The trick is to retain everything else. Larger colas, pine-funk dense glands and tight bracts. The bud structure it’s self is nice, it just need to connect and become a solid mass to be outstanding. This isn’t the strain for Kyle Kushman pruning methods. It would be far less yield as a result. It could get there, but keeping all sites maximizes final tally. That’s what I’ve seen so far as I study the pattens.

With the edges getting a bit crispy I’ve stopped high potassium booster foliar and switched to just sticky and sweet. I am flushing now, diluting the solution as more water is needed. Anyway the run is coming to a close. Next phase are growing the offspring

Thanks man, the strain holds a lot of potential to be even better. Like G13 it’s building blocks. I’m looking forward to where it all takes me

Thank you for the update!! They look great. The Colombian and chocolate haze are really chunky! Is your chocolate haze from drawh ( positive the spelling is wrong). I got some of hazeman reproduction of his f4 I believe.

@Emeraldgreen Again technically bag seed Chocolate Haze (Thai pheno), but I suspect it’s Royal Queen based on what I’ve researched and matched to mine. A was the thinner of all phenos, that’s why I made the cut. E and B were the best, w E being the true purple Thai pheno expression.

That’s great that you could narrow it down. I forgot about the bag seed part. It just stood out to me how chunky the chocolate Thai was, made me think of hazeman pack

Thanks @CornbreadJunior, that makes me feel all the effort and detail has been worth the time it’s taken. I came in hoping this is the genuine article and slowly that has been revealed that it is the ONE anyone who has tried it, will remember the complex terpenes of smoke. It is also important for through details to be enshrined on the internet so all the information is available to whoever wants to find it for the future. I’ve got to be honest but I could never expect the information I posted in the mid to late 90’s to be spread vastly across grower forums, but over time many growers referred to it, especially G13. I could have just posted grow pics and a few words. Pics can disappear and be lost, but words are forever.

@Emeraldgreen Yeah, I did this to find AB G13. I study patterns, leaf shape, size, width and serrations. I consider these potential identifiers. When I researched Chocolate Haze, I found the sun leaf on the bud as a high match to mine that were called CH. Also take in account Thai pheno, since it’s not true haze. That’s actually a misnomer, since it’s Chocolate Thai in reality.

Thanks @DrGonzo13, I try to do my best, but in growing there’s always room for tweaks and what to do a little better next time. In this case veg was too long, but to reach the 2 taller plants it had to be. Growing isn’t what you think it will all look like, it’s what is at the time and the ability to adjust to adaptation and behavior of plants

So I got curious, found an underdeveloped branch and decided let’s go for it…yes my micro steam dry and I decided to toss w CH shake.

This branch was from A…The flavor has fully developed. It’s unmistakable period. It’s lingers in the cough and in back of the throat. Let me say 50+ strains grown in the past and probably over 100 2-3 years of dispensary buying, there’s nothing, and I do mean NOTHING that’s made ME squeal like a bitch to hold the hit! Yes I said SQUEAL… The ride is nothing short of a roller coaster, griping, intense, zone outs, followed by fits of giggles and nearly uncontrollable laughter. It may be the equivalent of a case of beer. This will take any harden veteran back to his first days of getting stoned and what that’s like, I shit you not! 2 1/2 rollie blunts and I had to STOP and take a break, my head was thumping from blood rushing. Anyway yeah THAT is Crippy…OG who or what :smirk:
