Tappy's Cali Connection - Purple Diesel, 6 site DWC, dual Vero 29

Unpainted wood will also start to rot with all the humidity…

Buying paint this week, sounds like the anti-fungal/microbial would be my best option. Gonna see if I can find some of that. Thanks for the heads up, gang!!

Clones day 7

Everything looking good!!! Saw a single clone starting to yellow…usually means its dying or is sending leaf energy to the stem to push roots…had to check it out.

BA BAMM!!!

…at this point it looks like I’ve hit another 100% success rate for clones.

They are drinking a lot lately…will have to top up res and add more nutes to bump it up to about 600.
Did a little defol. to expose potential budsites. Friday will be day 1 of flower. Should be good to harvest the first or second week of December. Just enough time to do a dry and quick cure so that I dont have to buy Christmas gifts for anyone!! (Except the kids).

And for all you pervs. out there…here’s some root porn for ya! A little orgy goin’ on…lol

Beauty roots there! It looks like they’ve mostly outgrown the crinkling, I think it’s just a genetic thing because they look very healthy. Sweet deal on the fan/scrubber, nice that it comes with a dimmer and stuff too.

Is there a bubbler in your clone tub?

Nope…perlite to verm 1:1, ph 6.0 water, 1/2 cup of used nute solution from res + the rest fresh water to moisten the substrate.

One day I’m going to do DWC just to harvest a bunch of roots for tropicals. :smiling_imp::smiling_imp::smiling_imp:

Ppm was at 450, upped it to 580
Ph stable at 6

Took down the dual veros 3500k and put up the MarsHydro TS1000. @Zoey
The TS1000 has more white light than the 3500k veros.

.
Hung 16" above the canopy as per Mars Hydro recommendations (12"-18")

.
Less dark spots because of the board style light, rather than the 2 cobs.

Did another defol. since they took to it well…wanted to get a good visual of where I’m at…where they’re at.

clones day 9
Removed 2 small ones that were struggling. A few are resuming vegetative growth. Effin’ eh!!

If anyone starts a rusty, old fridge grow, you cant just jump in…you gotta start small…with rusty, old spoons first.

People may be asking, “why is he stripping leaves all the time?”. The answer is, I’ve been swazzing for a long time, almost every grow. I can see the results. Some strains take to it like a fish to water…others, like a fish out of water. I dont have any documented defol. pics or journals…but here are a few pics that drive the point home.
plant on the right is the same age as plant on the left…plant on the right gets a heavy, HEAVY defoliation.

.
Here is that same grow 12 days later

the pics speak for themselves

love it… although ive stopped buying vermiculite and now just use perlite

I used just perlite when I was a stay at home gardener…but I thought I wasn’t going to be able to give daily attention and needed the forgiveness that verm gives. Dried up clones in a dry perlite tray sucks. But the perlite (perlite/verm) bed is the best way to clone IMO. It never fails me.

yup///the verm will hold that extra water… perlite /coco is not too bad either.

I’m actually in a bit of a pinch…I have all these clones, but no more perlite. You think I can use hydroton and coco in a hempy style grow for veg. until the PD’s in flower are done?

My plan is to put the purple diesel clone and Strawberry Eclair seedling into the dwc once it’s available.

Day 32
Flower day 2
Oct 5

Ph stable at 6.0
Ppm 580 (was 480’ish)
Topped up with fresh water and added nutes to raise ppm.
About .5 gallon per day used by plants.

I wanted to leave some fan leaves on, but they grow too fast and shadow all the lower budsites…so I eliminated the problem. Will be pulling leaves off as flowering continues.
