Testers: Soloberry #2 and #3

3 out of 4 of the soloberry 3 seeds seem to be cracking the soil so far, however I am not seeing any action in the soloberry 2 pots.

i know it’s unrelated, but i passed a couple buds out of my ‘black snow’ i made (just finished drying) and got two responses. a “really really good” and a “good and tasty but can’t fall asleep”. same male as the soloberry so hopefully that’s a good thing.

@Swe-can

was it the 4x8 package with plastic tubes or just the white envelope? your tracking number for the package doesn’t show delivered yet.

All 4 soloberry 3’s have popped up from the soil, however there is no action on the 2’s. I have 3 2’s left, and I will start those soon if the ones I have already started don’t wake up.

I had to pry the seed hulls from the cotyledon so they didn’t behead themselves on 3 out of 4 of the soloberry 3 seedlings

One of the four solo2’s sprouted this morning! The three solo3’s are doing good, putting out their second set of leaves now, three fingered leaves.

Put the other 8 soloberry2 into towel this morning. Have then hanging above the lights to keep them warm. Hoping these ones pop and take off. Soloberry 3 seedlings chugging along. Pics tonight.

Looks like a lot of people are up and running already. What’s everyones plan for these? Mine are going from solo cup to 1 gallon soil and straight into flower, males culled.

Right now they are in 16oz solo cups, will up pot to larger containers, prob one gallon. Im growing them outside, I live in FL, and will be letting them go naturally into flower from seed and will try to take a cutting of each female when I top them. I might try to pollinate for seeds too, but I’m not sure about that. I may, if I get a male, wait to pollinate a cutting instead later down the road so I can get a good representation on which I like best to make some more seeds.

Uhhhgghh! Sorry bro! I been killing your beans. I’m down to 2 #3s and 1 #2. They keep dampening off. These last few gunna make it tho!

having the same issue here, though I am committed to seeing the experiment through. I have all of the rest of the soloberry 2’s in a damp towel now. 2 out of 4 of the soloberry 3 are sprouted and seem to be healthy. I lost one of the 3’s to dampening off and another didnt survive the surgery to remove the seed hull

I think since anonymous4289 said these are not fresh seeds, and due to the hard nature of the seed hulls I am seeing, that pre-soaking them would be best. I popped the 4 solo2 seeds in to a 6 hour soak and then they will go back in to the towels

I’m about to pop the rest of them,Hell yeah we gunna see this through! I’m going to cut up a Rockwool cube and put these next beans in it. I think that will fix the problem. Ima just spray the Rockwool with a spray bottle so they don’t crap out on me again. That shit is frustrating! Weird how sometimes they will pull through it and not others.

Yeah, it’s frustrating to see so many unsuccessful seedlings, it makes me feel like a bad father lol. I hope I can get at least one of the solo 2’s to take. I think the soloberry 2’s have enough energy to crack the shells but not to push out a tail. I may gently pre-crack a couple of them with my teeth after they are done soaking, before I put them back in to the paper towel to see if that helps, it has worked on other stubborn seeds in the past.

I soaked 4 of ea for 12hrs then put into moist paper towels in a baggie on top of fridge seeds cracked,moved to 16oz cups .Got damp off after 10days.Gonna soak some more of each and try again.Never went 0 for 8 sprouting .Sad its not more viable as it sounds like a killer strain.

if anyone ends up with 0 seeds (actually zero) let me know and I may ship out a plain white envelope and hope they don’t get crushed. definitely too expensive to send out vials again, but for like 50 cents it’s not a big deal.
