TestOfOath's Happy Place

So I suck and am a complete fuck up and am super hard on myself, I didn’t completely wetting the soil when I put em into the M3 I’m assuming, I sprayed water vs watering from the bottom of the containers and then had to leave for a full day, came back to the dirt drying out. Idk too many variables to pin down exactly what I did wrong but I gotta stop being dumb and lazy. Luckily I had enough seeds to replicate everything but two and changed one and added one cause I didn’t wanna risk wasting the last of what I had of those.

So now I’m doing @JohnnyPotseed worm castings sprouting tech I remember seeing, got tails sprouting out this morning. Got a heat mat underneath and pre filters attempting to block as much light as possible while keeping the temps high in there. Some were growing a fuzz, is that normal and ok or is that gonna dampen off those seeds?

Also bought two bags of roots organics coco shavings in bricks, hoping there’s less of a chance of bugs being in it than my promix I was using and that I can control things more finely than in soil so that’s what everything will be going into

Usually fuzz means there soggy and rotten chances are they’ll die. That’s just my experience with too humid conditions for seeds starts.

Yep cuz, I gotta agree with @ShiskaberrySavior here. If/whenever I see ‘fuzz’ growing, I just trash the bean before it can spread to any others.

I have had some success if spotted right away pull the seed out soak in hydrogen peroxide and replant in fresh soil . Providing it’s not already mush.

Like you said; you are too hard on yourself. The fact that you posted what happened tells me that you learned from it and likely won’t make that mistake again.

I’m out of likes but I appreciate your guys’ kind words, I always learn everything the hard way lol and half assing my stuff is something I had to learn to stop doing the hard way too I guess. Just need to get back to giving this 100% instead of what I’ve been giving it

As for the fuzz I only saw it on one sees that was in the oldest row in the container, I sprayed that row with peroxide water last night when I found it that way to kill the fuzz I’ll check on them tonight and pull any bad ones. Rest seemed to be doing fine just the one in the first row

Hey man…we all fuck up. If i don’t write stuff down nowadays I’d be lost…I don’t remember anything.
You can either laugh at yourself or get mad. Laugh at yourself…it’s more fun!

I’m sorry to hear about your setback. I unfortunately have had that realization a few times in my life. Everything looks so much better when I’m not being dumb and lazy. I usually take everything looking great to be a sign to start slacking.
Definitely being over critical of yourself!
Out of love guys :disappointed:

That’ll definitely do it

Shite happens my friend, just learn from it and move on. I see you are like myself and take things hard when the mistakes are made. I’ve watched you for quite some time and can definitely say you have skills, truly . If there’s anything I’ve learned in the last few months during my “break” it’s that I’m too critical of things and need to lean back a bit more, as well as not letting things get to me, especially the small stuff, and constantly reminding myself has been helping for sure. Keep up the good work, onward and upward.

Pretty impressed with your method @JohnnyPotseed I might go back to soaking them in before hand and then sorting them into the castings cause there’s a few not wanting to pop but I thoroughly enjoy being able to visibly see everything’s progress without having to open bags or unfold paper towel or anything. Had my daughter helping my chisel coco out of a brick with a plastic drum stick this morning to start transplants

I know his pain. We work together , I’m usually one of the last to leave the shop… it’s tough and can easily just get you burnt out and just say F-it. :+1::+1::v:

I feel ya brother… all I want to do is nothing on days off … at least you have something going. I’m still down. Been lazy because of the hours been working, up at 5 am every morning and working till 6-7 pm. Takes its toll, eventually I’ll get my room back together. May just do that today. It’s F-ing cold out this morning and not feeling working on anything outside. So I suppose I should get off my lazy a$$ and get this room done:rofl::joy:, on a good note I did partially organize seed collection, split up auto and photo into the new cases. gonna need another case for photo seeds …Lmao. I sent ya the links… I have 5 slots left, just enough for the 5 I just ordered … 3 of which are to make PERMA DREAM :+1::+1::v:

One of the reasons I like the paper towel method is the ability to obsessively check on the seeds. Really difficult to do in dirt😂
I think I give this a shot with my next germination

@BIGJ I gotta find some motivation in both places :joy: I get sick of being the only one left working on machines anymore, it’s repetitive as fuck and boring and lonely lol but I figure motivation in one or the other should lead to both I’m hoping

Son and wife ended up helping in the grow room today too transplanting seeds (I only broke one tap root pulling it out of the castings, i didn’t dig it out enough), look at all the support I got  I appreciate all you guys a lot

Went with roots organics coco that comes in a brick, watered everything in with CANNA start 1-1-2 and general organics bio root which is 0-1-1. Turned my 8 in AC infinity that exhausts onto my driver’s in the tent down to 2 n got the temp up to 78 in the last hour or so, I’ll leave the fan low for now

That’s a big job you got done I transplanted 4 clones plus watered every one and called it a night . Still have a few to do.

Only maybe a handful left I’m expecting to pop in the worm castings, added 2 Unicorn Poop F3 to the mix. Had maybe 15-20 that didn’t sprout but they were the sketchier looking seeds like a white one or two in a batch I wasn’t expecting much from and I didn’t do my usual presoak, I did with the UP and they popped tails overnight and it’s in the castings now. Everything’s taking off in the coco too, nice and smooth
